Mike Leake pitched shutout ball into the 8th, finishing with 7 2/3 scoreless frames, striking out 7 Cardinals. Seattle’s bullpen would meltdown in the 9th and drop the 5-2 final.

Who Owns October (#WOO) Tallies Updated For October 15, 2018

Kevork Djansezian, Getty Images
I am not going to lie to you. I still am not sure I am pronouncing Jhoulys correctly. But man, he gave the Brewers what they needed.
I DO know how to pronounce Orlando and Arcia. And put those names together and suddenly the Brewers are halfway to the World Series.
So who owned October?
Each winning team for every post season game gets a pitcher and a hitter who earn a full WOO (Who Owns October.)
And at my discretion, I award a 1/2 WOO’S to a worthy player on the losing team.
At the end of the post season, we will see who had the highest WOO total as a pitcher and a hitter.
A complete description of the rules can be found HERE.
From October 15, 2018
NLCS Game 3:
Receiving 1 WOO
Orlando Arcia lifted a 2 run homer to put the game away as the Brewers blanked the Dodgers, 4-0.
Jhoulys Chacín threw 5 1/3 shutout innings, striking out 6 Dodgers, and earned the 4-0 decision for Milwaukee.
Receiving 1/2 WOO
Walker Buehler threw 7 strong innings, striking out 8 Brewers, but he also let up a back breaking homer that sealed the Dodgers 4-0 loss.
Manny Machado reached base 3 times including a double in a 9th inning rally that failed to cash in for the Dodgers who dropped the 4-0 game to the Brewers.

MLB Teams Taking A Powder In 2017 So Far

Some MLB Teams have had a tough winter so far, and we take a look at why this is. We understand that not all clubs have to be in win mode, and some maybe rebuilding, however the process and mindset is what we are questioning here. For a team that is not going all in and should be based on their limited window of winning opportunity, we also call them to the carpet. Stop taking a powder in 2017 and give your head a shake!
MLB Teams Taking A Powder In 2017 So Far
There are certain clubs who have done a nice job improving their clubs year over year, some that have done nicely in maintaining, well, and there are teams that are not looking so hot in 2017.
Let me also qualify this in saying that the Toronto Blue Jays are dangerously close to falling into this pegging themselves. You guys can’t seriously think that you can enter into the 2017 campaign with the Outfield trio of Melvin Upton Jr., Kevin Pillar and Ezequiel Carrera can you?
Give Jose Bautista a 1 Year Deal worth $15 MIL – with a 2nd year Team Option of $19.4 MIL – or a Buyout Clause of $2.2 MIL The Player could also opt out if he wants to after 2017. You may risk losing a Draft Pick at all with the way this is going Toronto.
With the 1st ED pick attached to Joey Bats. and the looming future QO’s never receiving as much again, how could a team justify losing that high of Amateur Draft Selection for an aging 36 year old slugger.
Here is the thing though Blue Jays brass: You need him..Both at the turnstiles and in the lineup. He doesn’t cost you anything but money – and the guy still carried out a .815 OPS despite a rough down year.
With a chip on his shoulder, I think he will bounce back big time. You can defensive replace him every night if you wish, or use Kendrys Morales at First, and let Justin Smoak ride pine for some DH AB to open up for Bautista.
Losing Edwin Encarnacion, Bautista and Michael Saunders is not made up by Morales and Steve Pearce fellas! You drew 3.4 Million Fans in 2016. Toronto will keep the faith if you bring back #19 for one more year. Read the rest of this entry

MLB DFS Fantasy Draft Picks For DraftKings – 4/28/16: 2nd Lineup (Coors Field Factor)

Coors Field is a beautiful ballpark and often ranked in the top 10 among extreme ballpark chasers. The park even has $4 Rockpile tickets. It is also a haven for DFS wagering.
Hunter Stokes (Chief Writer/Part Owner)

We are going to run a daily feature of a 2nd lineup every time there is a game played at Coors Field. Lets face it, whatever you did yesterday would not have mattered much unless you had Andrew McCutchen in your roster.
This park continues to serve up fantasy points galore.
So with loading all of the players for stacks between the Rockies and Pirates Thursday (Juan Nicasio @ Tyler Chatwood) I left off the Catchers as who knows who will play on a matinee game on getaway day.
I found a couple of gems in order to save some cash to Start Jake Arrieta as well.
The 1st player is A.J. Pierzynski – who holds a 400 BA lifetime versus Clay Buchholz, and will most likely start.
Has anyone been following this Brandon Drury kid out of Arizona? He can play 2B/3B and OF – and has a 3 Slash so far of .298/.317/.526 – and is perfectly priced at $2200.
Then I used Tyler Wilson at home for the Orioles ($4800) against the White Sox. Chicago just swept the Jays and should be due for a letdown . Baltimore is 7 – 1 at home thus far on the season. Wilson actually won his last start versus the Royals in KC.
Since I only spent a total of $10.200 on those guys. it left me $39800 for the remaining 7 players. Bang, Now I can afford Arrieta, and roster 4 Rockies and 2 Pirates in my Coors Field mandatory lineup
MLB DFS Picks For FanDuel 4/28/16

Bryce Harper had dialed long distance 2 times in 7 career AB versus Phillies Starter Aaron Nola, whom he will face Thursday afternoon at Nationals Park. It has been a slow week for the Nats offense – and I believe they are due to break out for some runs tomorrow.
Hunter Stokes (Chief Writer/Part Owner)
Follow @stokes_Hunter21 @mlbreports
While I love Jake Arrieta throwing versus the Brewers on Thursday, I will reserve to play him on Draft Kings, as I would rather roster a bunch of hitters instead.
The options came down to either use Tanner Roark or Clay Buchholz, and it came down to price. Buchholz has not thrown well this year and costs $900. He also pitches at Fenway Thursday.
Roark was nails in his last start on Saturday, doling out 15 K’s at home versus the Braves. Since I stacked on on 3 of the hitters being Nats, it is a nice chance to rake in some points.
In order to secure Bryce Harper, I am using A.J. Pierzynski in the Boston vs ATL game. He is a solid veteran. – and holds a .400 BA in 15 AB versus the Red Sox veteran.
I almost won a bunch of dough with this exact same lineup Wednesday, as I had David Ortiz, Dustin Pedroia and Xander Bogaerts – with pitcher Steven Wright. They all combined for about 120 PTS.
My Nats lineup of guys didn’t fare as well and cost me. I will play it again and just slightly tweak it. I can’t see the Phillies continue to win series like this.
has 5 hits in 7 AB versus Aaron Nola so far, with 2 jacks. Anthony Rendon also has done yard work in limited duty, with 3 hits – including his HR in 8 AB. Daniel Murphy is 2 – 5 against Nola. Read the rest of this entry

P – Michael Wacha (vs. San Diego Padres): $8,900. This is by far the best pitching match-up on the daily fantasy slate for Saturday. Wacha is averaging 15.5 points per game this year on Draft Kings, so he is a pretty solid option.
He is facing the San Diego Padres, whom is the 29th worst offense in baseball. In the one game that Wacha threw against the Padres in his career, he absolutely dominated them. In 28 at bats, he held them to a .107 opposing batting average, 3 hits, and 7 strikeouts.
Wacha will be traveling to San Diego for this game, but their stadium is very pitcher-friendly, so this is good news for Wacha. In 2016, he has a 1-0 record, in 16.1 innings pitched, 2.76 ERA, 15 strikeouts, and only 3 walks.
P – Jhoulys Chacin (vs. New York Mets): $6,400. Chacin has been a strikeout machine in his first two starts this year. In 11.1 innings pitched, he has a 2.38 ERA, 14 strikeouts, and 0 walks.
His first two games came against two tough offenses, the Washington Nationals and Miami Marlins, and he took care of business. He faces a Mets offense on Saturday that has really struggled in 2016.
The Mets are ranked as the 26th worst offense in Major League Baseball. New York also have the 9th most offensive strikeouts, 134, which could be a great source of points for Chacin on Saturday.
Chacin could give up 3-4 runs on Saturday, but his first two starts suggest he should continue to rack up strikeouts and limit his walks. All signs point towards the RHP having a pretty good game and he is only $6,400.
