Let’s see owned baseball on April 23, 2019
Earning Full WOBs:
Franmil Reyes hit a pair of homers, driving in 3, to help the Padres double up the Mariners, 6-3.
Luke Voit homered twice and walked as the Yankees held on to beat the Angels, 7-5.
Zack Wheeler not only threw 7 shutout innings, allowing only 5 hits and no walks while striking out 11 Phillies, but he also homered and doubled, totally dominating the 9-0 victory by the Mets.
Earning 1/2 WOBs:
Xander Bogaerts homered twice in the Red Sox opening 7-4 loss to the Tigers. He added an RBI single in the 4-2 nightcap loss.
Jake Newberry came out of the bullpen and threw 3 shutout innings, allowing 2 hits and 1 walk. But the Rays damage was done early and the Royals could not come back in the 5-2 final.
Travis Shaw hit a pair of homers but the Brewers came up short against St. Louis, 4-3.
Trevor Williams threw 7 strong innings, allowing 4 hits and 2 runs, walking 1 and striking out 4 Diamondbacks. He took the hard luck 2-1 decision as the Pirates lost.

Manny Machado homered twice, driving in 3, as the Dodgers clobbered the Mariners, 11-1.
Xander Bogaerts tripled, hit a pair of doubles, drove in a pair and scored once to help the Red Sox erase an early deficit and defeat the Rays, 7-3.
Aaron Nola struck out 11 Mets in 7 innings, giving up 3 hits and 1 run to earn the 4-2 decision for the Phillies.
Carlos Carrasco allowed 3 hits and no earned runs over 7 innings, winning the 2-1 game for Cleveland over the Orioles.

Marcus Semien homered twice, added a third hit and drove in 4 to give the A’s a 7-0 beating of the Angels.
Trevor Williams held the Giants scoreless over 7 strong innings, allowing 5 hits and 1 walk to earn the 4-0 decision for the Pirates.
Ryan Zimmerman homered twice, driving in 6, in the Nationals 9-4 win over the Cubs.

Shin-Soo Choo homered to lead off the game and got on base 5 times during the game as Texas doubled up Kansas City, 6-3.
Trevor Bauer held the White Sox scoreless over his 7 innings, striking out 8 and earned the 6-2 decision for Cleveland.

Johnny Cueto did not allow a hit until the 6th and finished with 6 shutout innings, allowing 2 hits and striking out 7 Angels to lead the Giants to a 4-2 victory.
Jose Ramirez hit a pair of homers and walked, driving in 3, in the Indians 7-3 win over Baltimore.
Luis Severino threw 7 strong innings, allowing 3 hits and 1 run, earning the 5-1 decision for the Yankees over the Blue Jays.

Justin Smoak reached base 4 times, homered twice including a dramatic 2 out go ahead grand slam in the 8th to slug the Blue Jays past the Yankees, 7-4.
José Berríos threw a complete game 3 hit shutout, striking out 6 Orioles, as the Twins won 7-0.
Bryce Harper smacked a pair of homers and added a walk as Washington held on to beat Cincinnati, 6-5.
Trevor Williams gave the Pirates 6 no hit innings before being lifted after 85 pitches. The bullpen let up 2 Tiger hits but no runs in the 1-0 final.
