Manny Machado collected 5 hits including a double and a 2 run homer in the wild 11th inning rally, helping the Orioles stay in first with an 8-2 win in Washington.

Chase Utley got on base 3 times, including a homer, and drove in a pair, helping the Phillies edge the first place Brewers 3-2.

James Shields threw 7 three hit shutout innings, striking out 10, walking 1 and helping the Royals stop Tampa Bays’ winning streak, 6-0.

Ian Kennedy pitched 7 innings of 4 hit, 1 run ball at Coors Field, earning the Padres 6-1 victory over Colorado.

They owned baseball on July 7, 2014.

Earning 1/2 WOBs in losing efforts.

Adrian Beltre got 2 hits including a homer and a pair of RBI in the Rangers 12-7 loss to the Astros.

Chris Coghlan did his job, going 4-5 with a pair of doubles and runs scored. The Cubs would lose 9-3 in Cincinnati.

Kevin Correia threw 7 solid innings, allowing runs on a pair of solo homers but prevented any big rallies. Those homers cost him, however as the Mariners won the game 2-0 over the Twins.

Charlie Morton was brilliant, holding the Cardinals to 1 hit and no runs over 7 innings. But the Pirates bats let him down and he got a no decision in the 2-0 walk off loss in St. Louis.
