Let’s see owned baseball on July 3, 2019

Earning Full WOBs:

Cody Bellinger launched 2 homers including a walk off shot in the 10th inning to give the Dodgers another dramatic victory, 5-4 over Arizona.

Mike Clevinger threw 6 shutout innings, striking out 9 Royals to earn the 4-0 decision for the Indians.

Sonny Gray struck out 12 over 8 scoreless innings as the Reds blanked the Brewers, 3-0.

Yoán Moncada homered in the first and hit a game tying homer in the 10th, setting up the White Sox double header sweep walk off 9-6 victory over the Tigers. He had singled and scored in the 7-5 opening win.

Earning 1/2 WOBs:

Victor Caratini hit a solo homer and a 2 run shot but the Cubs saw the Pirates walk off as 6-5 winners.

Nicholas Castellanos collected 4 hits, including a homer, driving in 3 in the Tigers 9-6 extra innings loss to the White Sox.

Jhoulys Chacín struck out 8 Reds in 6 innings, walking none and allowing 2 runs. He took the hard luck 3-0 decision for Milwaukee.

Mike Leake pitched shutout ball into the 8th, finishing with 7 2/3 scoreless frames, striking out 7 Cardinals. Seattle’s bullpen would meltdown in the 9th and drop the 5-2 final.

Who Owned Baseball August 13, 2018 (Daily #MLB AL/NL Pitcher + Hitter MVP’s) + 2018 #WOB

Ronald Acuña led off both games of the double header with a homer. Over the two games, he reached base 7 times, driving in 5 runs, scoring 4 and stole a base as the Braves swept the twin bill from Miami, 9-1 and 6-1.

Nicholas Castellanos went 5 for 5 with a homer and 5 RBI as the Tigers topped the White Sox, 9-5.

Mike Foltynewicz threw 8 innings, allowing 1 run and struck out 7 Marlins en route to a 6-1 victory for the Braves.

Sean Manaea pitched into the 8th, finishing with 7 2/3 innings, allowing 5 hits and 2 runs, striking out 3 Mariners. The A’s bullpen struggled but held on to win, 8-5.

Who Owned Baseball August 6, 2018 (Daily #MLB AL/NL Pitcher + Hitter MVP’s) + 2018 #WOB

David Peralta got 4 hits including a homer in the game tying 9th inning rally and a walk off shot in the 14th to give the Diamondbacks a dramatic 3-2 win over Philadelphia.

Marwin Gonzalez hit a 2 out, 3 run homer in the 9th to turn a 1-0 Giants lead to a 3-1 Astros victory.

Kyle Freeland threw 7 shutout innings, allowing 2 hits as the Rockies blanked the Pirates, 2-0.

Lance Lynn gave the Yankees a much needed boost with 7 1/3 shutout innings, 2 hits and 9 strikeouts, topping the White Sox, 7-0.

Who Owned Baseball July 9, 2018 (Daily #MLB AL/NL Pitcher + Hitter MVP’s) + 2018 #WOB

Aaron Nola allowed 1 hit and no runs over 7 brilliant innings, striking out 10 Mets. He also broke up the no hitter with a 3 run double that gave the Phillies all of their runs in the 3-1 final.

José Berríos threw 7 innings, allowing 1 run, no walks and struck out 8 Royals to give the Twins a 3-1 victory.

Scott Schebler went 4 for 5 with a homer and 3 RBI to help the Reds beat Cleveland, 7-5.

Stephen Piscotty broke up a scoreless tie with a homer and later drove in the only other run in the game with an RBI single as the A’s blanked the Astros, 2-0.

DJ LeMahieu reached base 4 times including a go ahead homer in the 9th inning, giving the Rockies a 9-8 victory in San Francisco.

Nelson Cruz got 3 hits, including a homer, driving in 3 to push the red hot Mariners to a 4-2 win against Baltimore.

Aaron Nola pitched into the 8th, finishing with 7 2/3 innings, 5 hits and 1 run, striking out 8 Nationals to lead the Phillies past Washington, 4-3.

Lance McCullers Jr. threw 7 scoreless innings, striking out 7 as the the Astros blanked the Rays, 1-0.

Miles Mikolas threw a complete game 4 hit shutout, striking out 9 Royals as the Cardinals cruised to a 6-0 final.

Gleyber Torres homered twice, driving in 3, to help the Yankees slug the Rangers, 10-5.

Mark Reynolds homered twice and singled as the Nationals clobbered San Diego, 10-2.

Justin Verlander kept the Angels hitless into the 5th and finished with 7 innings, 4 hits, 2 runs, 9 strikeouts, no walks and a 5-2 decision for the Astros.

Jon Gray struck out 11 Padres over 6 innings of 3 hit shutout ball to earn the 5-2 Colorado victory.

Nicholas Castellanos reached base 5 times, including a homer and 4 RBI in the Tigers 13-10 slug fest Game 1 win over Pittsburgh. He added another hit and RBI in the nightcap which Detroit dropped.

Matt Adams singled, doubled and launched a homer, driving in 6 runs as the Nationals demolished the Giants, 15-2.

Doug Fister allowed a lead off homer and then held the Indians hitless for the next 9 innings, going the distance in the 9-1 Red Sox win.

Gary Sanchez homered twice, added another hit and drove in 4 as the Yankees mashed the Tigers 13-4.

Patrick Corbin threw 8 strong innings, allowing 4 hits and 1 run while striking out 6 Mets for the 7-4 Diamondbacks victory.

Yangervis Solarte drove in 6 runs with a homer and 2 other hits pushing San Diego past St. Louis, 12-4.

Brad Peacock struck out 9 Mariners in 7 innings, allowing 3 hits and 1 run to earn the 6-2 decision for Houston.

Bryce Harper went 4 for 4 with a homer and 2 runs scored as the Nationals squeaked past the Angels, 4-3.

Nicholas Castellanos got 4 hits, including a pair of homers, driving in 5 runs as the Tigers beat the Royals 9-3.
