Bryan Mitchell took a shutout into the 9th, finishing with 8 2/3 scoreless innings, striking out 7 as the Padres blanked the Giants, 5-0.

David Freese got 3 hits, including a game tying homer, to inch the Dodgers closer to an NL West title by beating the Diamondbacks, 7-4.

Christian Yelich hit for the cycle, completing it with a game tying triple, and finished with a 6 hit historic night, giving Milwaukee a 13-12 extra inning victory in Cincinnati.

Mookie Betts walked, singled, doubled and homered, scoring 3 and driving in 3 as the Red Sox blasted the Marlins, 14-6.

Zack Godley pitched a shutout into the 8th and finished with 7 2/3 innings, 2 hits, 1 run and struck out 6 Giants to earn the 2-1 decision for Arizona.

Reynaldo Lopez held the Yankees to 1 run and 5 hits over 7 innings to win the 4-1 game for the White Sox.

Madison Bumgarner threw 7 shutout innings, allowing 4 hits and struck out 5. He did not factor in the decision but the Giants blanked the Diamondbacks, 1-0.

Carlos Carrasco pitched the Indians a little closer to the AL Central title by striking out 11 Twins in 7 2/3 shutout frames en route to an 8-1 victory.

Jose Peraza went 4 for 5 with a homer, 2 RBI and 4 runs scored as the Reds out slugged Milwaukee, 9-7.

Craig Gentry collected 3 hits, including a homer, driving in 3, giving Baltimore a rare win, 12-5 over Toronto.

Alex Bregman went 4 for 5, driving in 4, with a double and a back breaking 3 run homer to help the Astros take a critical 11-4 game from Oakland.

Anthony Rizzo collected 3 hits, including a homer, driving in a pair to help the red hot Cubs top the Mets, 7-4.

Carlos Rodon allowed 2 hits and 2 runs over 7 innings to give the White Sox a 6-2 win over the Yankees.

Chris Stratton threw 8 shutout innings, striking out 6 and earning the 2-0 decision as San Francisco blanked Arizona.

Matt Carpenter hit a record 4 doubles while driving in 2 and scoring 2 as the Cardinals clobbered the Rockies, 12-3.

Kyle Hendricks threw 7 innings of 2 hit shutout ball as the Cubs blanked the Reds, 9-0.

Jason Kipnis doubled, homered and collected 2 more singles, driving in 4 runs in the Indians 12-5 laugher over Kansas City.

Blake Snell struck out 8 in 6 innings, allowing 2 hits and 1 run to help the Rays be the first team to sweep Boston this year with a 9-1 thumping.

German Marquez struck out 9 Cardinals in 7 shutout innings, allowing 3 hits and 1 walk, while pitching the Rockies into a first place tie with a 9-1 thrashing.

Lucas Giolito threw 7 innings, allowing 1 run and struck out 6 Tigers to earn the 6-1 White Sox win.

Javier Baez reached base 3 times, including a homer, driving in 3, as the Cubs padded their NL Central lead by beating the Reds, 10-6.

Aaron Hicks singled, doubled and homered, driving in 2 runs in the Yankees 10-3 blow out win over the Orioles in the first game of a double header. In the nightcap, Hicks added 2 more hits as the Yankees won over Baltimore, 5-1.
