Jose Ramirez went 3 for 5 with 2 homers in the opening game then doubled and singled in the night cap as the Indians swept the double header from Minnesota, 9-3 and 6-2, to leap frog into first place.

Yangervis Solarte reached base 3 times, homered twice including a 2 run shot in the 10th as the Padres won a wild 7-5 game in 11 over the Brewers.

Alex Meyer threw 6 shutout innings, allowing 2 hits and striking out 9 Kansas City batters as the Angels took the 9-0 laugher.

Dinelson Lamet struck out 12 Brewers in 6 innings, walking none. He did not get the decision but the Padres triumphed in extra innings, 7-5.

Lorenzo Cain homered twice, added another hit, and drove in all 3 Kansas City runs as they topped the Angels, 3-1.

Max Scherzer pitched 8 strong innings, allowing 1 run and striking out 10 Mets to get the 7-2 decision for the Nationals.

Ian Kennedy took a perfect game into the 6th and finished with 6 innings, 2 hits and struck out 4 Angels. He would get the 3-1 victory for the Royals.

Nolan Arenado went 3 for 5, driving in 4 as the Rockies took a wild 10-9 game from San Francisco.

Chris Gimenez homered twice, driving in 4 runs to lead the Twins past the Mariners, 6-2.

Paul Goldschmidt collected 3 hits, including a homer and 4 RBI to lead Arizona past Milwaukee, 11-1.

Austin Bibens-Dirkx threw 7 innings, allowing 3 hits and 1 run, earning the 5-1 decision for the Rangers over Washington.

Robbie Ray struck out 12 Brewers over 6 2/3 shutout innings as the Diamondbacks rolled, 11-1.
