Austin Hedges got 3 hits including a go ahead RBI double, giving the Padres a 7-6 win over the Rockies.

Ozzie Albies doubled and homered with 2 RBI to lead the Braves over Colorado, 4-0.
Mike Trout reached base 3 times, including a homer, driving in 2, scoring 2 and stole a base to provide the Angels’ offense in Ohtani’s 6-1 masterpiece over Oakland.

Xander Bogaerts reached base 3 times, including a double and a grand slam, driving in 6 for the red hot Red Sox who clobbered the Rays, 10-3.
Vince Velasquez threw 6 strong innings, allowing 4 hits, 1 walk and 1 run as the Phillies humiliated the Marlins, 20-1.
Gerrit Cole struck out 11 Padres over 7 shutout innings. He didn’t get the decision but set up the Astros 1-0 extra inning victory.

Manny Machado reached base 6 times, including 2 homers and a single in the game winning rally in the 14th to lead Baltimore past the Yankees in a wild 7-3 game.
Mychal Givens threw 2 scoreless and hitless frames in extra innings with the game on the line. Then he made a spectacular game saving block of the plate after throwing a potential walk off wild pitch. He did not get the decision nor earn a save, but he kept the Orioles alive to set up their 7-3 win over the Yankees.
Colin Moran got 4 hits, including a double, scoring 3 times and driving in 3 as the red hot Pirates clobbered the Reds, 14-3.
Luis Perdomo took one of the worst teams in baseball into the home of the red hot World Champion Astros and walked away a winner. He threw 5 solid innings, allowing 1 run and striking out 4 as the Padres took the 4-1 final.

Mike Trout scored both Angels runs, including a homer, and cut off a ball that would have tied the game in the 9th and preserved the 2-1 final in Oakland.

Dylan Bundy threw 7 shutout innings, scattering 5 hits and striking out 7 Twins. He did not get the decision but set up Baltimore’s 3-2 walk off win.
Chase Anderson allowed 1 hit in 6 shutout innings as the Brewers took the opener against the Padres, 2-1 in extra innings.

Who Owned Baseball – The Final Regular Season Tally for 2017

The 2017 regular season is over and the final tally of Who Owned Baseball has been made.
And with it, it turned out there was a 4 way tie for National League pitcher.
Let’s review.
COREY KLUBER was the American League pitcher who owned baseball with 14, well above Chris Sale (8 1/2) and Ervin Santana and Luis Severino (8).
JOSE RAMIREZ was the American League hitter who owned baseball with 8, edging Mookie Betts (7) on the final day with Jose Abreu finishing third with 6 1/2.
GIANCARLO STANTON was the National League hitter who owned baseball finishing with 10 1/2, with Nolan Arenado at second with 7 1/2 and Bryce Harper third with 6.
CLAYTON KERSHAW, CARLOS MARTINEZ, MAX SCHERZER and STEPHEN STRASBURG all tied as the National League pitchers who owned, deadlocked at 8. Zack Greinke almost joined the scrum with a 7 1/2 total.

Jed Lowrie singled, doubled and hit a go ahead grand slam as the A’s outslugged the Tigers to a 9-8 victory.
Marcus Stroman threw 7 strong innings allowing 1 run and 4 hits to get the 5-2 Toronto win over the Royals.

Ryan Zimmerman got 3 hits, including a pair of homers, driving in 4, to lead Washington past Los Angeles, 7-1.
