Andrew McCutchen was dynamic, collecting 6 hits, stealing a base and extended his 14th inning at bat with foul ball after foul ball before slamming a come from behind, walk off, 3 run homer to stun the Dodgers, 7-5 in San Francisco.

Xander Bogaerts reached base 3 times, including a double and a grand slam, driving in 6 for the red hot Red Sox who clobbered the Rays, 10-3.

Vince Velasquez threw 6 strong innings, allowing 4 hits, 1 walk and 1 run as the Phillies humiliated the Marlins, 20-1.

Gerrit Cole struck out 11 Padres over 7 shutout innings. He didn’t get the decision but set up the Astros 1-0 extra inning victory.

Chase Utley reached base 3 times, including a game tying homer, but the Dodgers blew the 7-5 game in the 14th to the Giants.

Justin Upton doubled and homered, driving in 2, in the Angels 7-3 loss to the A’s.

Matt Koch stopped the bleeding out of the bullpen and struck out 3 Cardinals over 2 perfect innings of relief. The Diamondbacks could not complete the comeback and fell, 5-3.

Trevor Bauer allowed 1 run over 8 innings, striking out 7 Royals. That was one run too many as the Indians were blanked, 1-0.
