Could Jose Altuve Win The American League MVP Award?
Houston Astros’ second baseman, Jose Altuve, has had quite an impressive 2016 season so far. He has been so impressive that he could be a legitimate contender for the American League Most Valuable Player Award. He has some very tough competition that includes Mike Trout, Ian Desmond, Robinson Cano, Xander Bogaerts, David Ortiz and many more.
Altuve’s chances at the MVP award could drastically change considering there are still 84 games left in the season, but he is currently one of the favorites. His biggest competition will more than likely be Mike Trout, but Jose Altuve could have a huge advantage on Trout if the Astros continue to win. If Altuve leads the Astros to a playoff appearance, then he could be at a distinct advantage over Trout since the Angels will more than likely finish in the bottom half of the American League West.

Who Will Be The Next Superstar Baseball Prospect Called Up?
Following the promotion of Lucas Giolito, MLB’s #1 overall prospect, many people are wondering who and when the next superstar prospect will be called up. There are quite a few people who come to mind when pondering this question. Some of those names include Alex Bregman, Manuel Margot, Alex Reyes, Orlando Arcia, Tyler Glasnow, Aaron Judge, and many more.
It is difficult to predict when a prospect is going to be called up, but it can be even harder to predict if that prospect is going to be a superstar. Every one of those guys listed above have the potential to be something special, but who will make that superstar impact this year? Could it be Alex Bregman taking over third base for the Houston Astros? How about Alex Reyes toeing the rubber in St. Louis? Both of those individuals will be superstars, but they are not who I have in mind.

The Atlanta Braves Need To Trade Julio Teheran, But It Might Not Happen
As it gets closer to the trade deadline, Atlanta Braves pitcher, Julio Teheran, is gaining more and more attention. Through five starts in June, Teheran has been absolutely dominant throwing 37.2 innings, with a 1.91 ERA, 17 hits against, 37 strikeouts, and only four walks. The Braves will bring in quite the haul if they decide to deal the right-hander to a competing team at the trade deadline.
So far in 2016, Teheran owns a 3-7 record, with a 2.46 ERA, 70 hits against, 99 strikeouts, and 24 walks in 106 innings pitched. Pay no attention to the record since he is currently playing for the worst team in baseball, but this might not be for long. Many teams have expressed interest in Teheran, including the Boston Red Sox, Miami Marlins, Los Angeles Dodgers, Detroit Tigers, and other teams competing for a spot in the playoffs.
Teheran would help a competing team, but he may not be worth the price the Atlanta Braves are asking for. Not only is the price high, but there are some concerning factors that might show that Teheran’s success in 2016 could be a fluke.

Michael Conforto Might File Grievance Against The New York Mets

By Trey Rose (BBBA Featured Writer, owner of dynastydigest.sportsblog.com)
Young star, Michael Conforto, was demoted a few days ago because of a massive slump. Following May 1st, Conforto was batting .148, with a .217 OBP, and a .303 slugging percentage. Many people believe his struggles may stem from a wrist injury, but Conforto assured the media it was a mechanical issue rather than medical.
Well, it looks like the wrist injury may be a bigger issue than previously stated. On June 14th, Conforto received a cortisone shot to treat the injured cartilage in his left wrist. This cortisone shot could prove that Conforto is in fact too injured to play, which could lead to a grievance case. In the Major League Baseball collective bargaining agreement, it states that teams may not send injured major league players to the minor leagues. Rather, the team must place the player on the major league disabled list. This could have big repercussions on the New York Mets if Conforto decides to file this case.
You be wondering, “why would Conforto file this grievance,” but it’s very simple, money. By sending him down, Conforto is losing roughly $2,000 a day when you take into account major league pay compared to the minor leagues. Not only is he losing money, but he is also not losing service time, which could delay his future free agency. While this must be frustrating to Conforto, it is very unlikely he will go through with the case.
In order to win a grievance case for this situation, the player must not be healthy enough to play for the minor league club. Conforto has a few things going against him that would more than likely cause him to lose this case.
First of all, before he was demoted, he was very adamant when stating that his problems don’t stem from an injury, but rather his mechanical approach at the plate. In other words, he took full responsibility for his struggles. Second of all, he did play his first game at Triple-A, which shows he is able to play. Now he could be playing through an injury in which he shouldn’t be playing, but that could be tough to prove. Of course it is still possible for Conforto to file this grievance, but there are quite a few issues against his case.

Exclusive Interview With 2017 Draft Prospect and UNC Tar Heel, J.B. Bukauskas
J.B. has an electrifying fastball and slider combination, which both have potential to be plus-plus pitches. He is also developing a change-up that many scouts believe could solidify him as a top of the rotation starter one day. It’s hard to say which pitch is his best between his fastball and slider. He sits between 93-96 MPH with his fastball, but his slider could be the best breaking ball in the 2017 draft class. His elite combination of pitches, command, and maturity on and off the mound should make him one of the top prospects in the 2017 MLB Draft.
He is one of the top arms in the Cape Cod League this summer. He is also playing with Team USA this summer in Japan, Taiwan, and Cuba.

Noah Syndergaard and His Fantasy Owners Dodge A Bullet
I checked my phone yesterday, as I got a notification, and my heart skipped a beat. The notification read, “Mets RHP Noah Syndergaard left today’s game after 6 innings because of elbow discomfort, will see team doctor.” First of all, I’m a huge fan of Thor. Second of all, I own him in two of my fantasy leagues. Third of all, I hate to see another young pitcher plagued by the dreaded Tommy John Surgery. Well have no fear folks, all Thor fans have dodged a bullet.

Astros’ Prospect, Alex Bregman, Hit In The Head By A 94 MPH Fastball
Many Houston Astros and fantasy baseball fans have been wondering when Alex Bregman will finally make his MLB debut. Unfortunately, it might be delayed after taking a fastball to the head on Monday night. Luckily Bregman got up on his own power and he seems to be okay, but he sat out last night as a precautionary measure. Hopefully this event doesn’t hurt Bregman physically or his approach at the plate.

Why Clayton Kershaw Should Be The National League MVP
That title is a bold statement, but I’m standing by my words. Clayton Kershaw is playing at a level that isn’t even comparable to other pitchers in 2016. It is very difficult to compare the statistics of a batter to a pitcher for the MVP race, but in my opinion, it is very obvious that Kershaw deserves this award if he continues at this pace.
Of course there are plenty of deserving bats who will compete for the NL MVP award, including Nolan Arenado, Kris Bryant, Daniel Murphy, Anthony Rizzo, and many more, but Kershaw is putting together one of the most dominant pitching seasons we have seen in the the history of baseball. Please click the link below to see how Kershaw compares to his peers in 2016 and in baseball history:

MLB Trade Rumors: San Francisco Giants Trying To Acquire Ryan Braun
It is no secret that the San Francisco Giants are trying to land an outfielder after losing all-star outfielder, Hunter Pence, for the next few months due to a very severe hamstring injury. As of right now, the Giants have filled the outfield with Gregor Blanco, Denard Span, Jarrett Parker, and Mac Williamson. As you can imagine, this outfield is not doing the trick considering Span is only outfielder with an on base percentage higher than .310 this season.
The Giants currently have a five game lead in the National League West, but over the last seven games, their offense is ranked last in OBP, 28th in runs scored, and dead last in slugging. If the Giants want to keep this lead in their division, they need to find a way to add an elite bat to their lineup during Pence’s absence.
