Neil Walker was a double shy of the cycle, driving in 4 runs and scoring 2 more to give the Mets a much needed 6-4 victory over Colorado.

Carl Edwards Jr. came out of the bullpen, struck out 5 of the 6 batters he faced and stopped the bleeding as the Cubs fell into a deep early hole against Seattle. He did not fare in the decision, but his relief help set up Chicago’s comeback and their walk off 7-6 win in the 12th.

Miguel Cabrera went 3 for 4 with 2 homers, 3 runs scored and 4 RBI to help the Tigers finish the sweep of Houston, 11-0.

Corey Kluber threw 7 shutout innings, striking out 7 A’s and allowing just 5 hits as the Indians won again, 8-0.

Daily Fantasy MLB DFS Picks For DraftKings 7/30/16

P – Anthony DeSclafani (vs. San Diego Padres): $9,400. DeSclafani has been incredibly reliable this season when he is healthy. He is 6-0 on the year, with a 3.09 ERA, and 46 strikeouts in 55.1 innings pitched.

He is pitching in San Diego’s home stadium, which is a much better pitcher’s park than what DeSclafani is used to in Cincinnati. If this righty continues to pitch like he has over the last two months, the Padres’ offense shouldn’t pose a problem on Saturday..

P – Jeremy Hellickson (vs. Atlanta Braves): $8,900. Now is Hellickson’s time to shine if he wants to get dealt to a competing team. Over his last seven starts, he has a 2.20 ERA, which is obviously very appealing to teams looking to acquire pitching around the trade deadline.

He will be facing one of the worst offenses in baseball, so this should be a great matchup for the righty.

Cole Hamels struck out 12 Royals in 8 innings, allowing 2 runs and earning the 3-2 Texas victory.

Tanner Roark went 7 strong, allowing 4 hits and 1 run as the Nationals hung on to win 4-2 in San Francisco.

Max Kepler reached base 3 times, homered, drove in a pair and helped the Twins beat Baltimore, 6-2.

Aledmys Diaz doubled and homered, driving in 3 and led the Cardinals past Miami, 5-4.

Daily Fantasy MLB DFS Picks For DraftKings 7/29/16

P – Collin McHugh (vs. Detroit Tigers): $8,600. McHugh struggled to start the season, but he has been very reliable in the month of July. In four starts this months, he has a 2.66 ERA and 28 strikeouts. He is pitching in a pitcher favorable ballpark as well, which is also to his favor. Over his last four starts, he is averaging 20.5 points on DraftKings. There is a chance of rain at the start of this game, so keep an eye on the weather forecast.

P – Ivan Nova (vs. Tampa Bay Rays): $8,300. Over his last four starts, Nova has been a great option for daily fantasy. He is averaging 19.9 points on DraftKings in that timespan. Tampa Bays’ offense has been brutal all season, specifically over the last seven days, so this should be a great matchup for Nova.

Midseason Top 100 MLB Prospect Rankings Analysis (1-10)

Below you can find my analysis for the prospects ranked between 1-10 for the 2016 midseason top prospect list. If you want to see the analysis for the rest of the top 100, please visit my blog: www.dynastydigest.sportsblog.com

  1. Yoan Moncada (BOS, 21 Years Old, 2B): Moncada has stolen my heart and he has stolen the top prospect in my midseason rankings. In 414 plate appearances between High-A and Double-A, Moncada is batting .294, with 12 home runs, 43 stolen bases, .404 OBP, and a .513 slugging percentage. He is blocked by Dustin Pedroia at second base, but there is a good chance the Red Sox move him to third base or to the outfield at some point. Regardless of what position he plays, Moncada will be an elite ball player, and an even better fantasy player. He has the ability to steal 40+ bases, with an on base percentage of .370+, and 20 home runs or more in a season. Needless to say, those statistics would put him in an elite class in fantasy baseball.

Gerrit Cole pitched the first complete game of his career, allowing just 3 hits, 1 run and striking out 6 Mariners to lead Pittsburgh in a 10-1 laugher.

Freddie Freeman reached base 5 times, homered, drove in 5 and stole a base to highlight the Braves’ 9-7 victory over Minnesota.

Lance McCullers struck out 10 Yankees, allowing 1 run over 6 innings and earned the 4-1 decision for Houston.

Khris Davis went 3 for 4 with a pair of homers as the A’s held off Texas, 6-4.

Daily Fantasy MLB DFS Picks For DraftKings 7/28/16

P- Cole Hamels (vs. Kansas City Royals): $9,900. Hamels is coming off a successful start against the Royals his last time out. He threw 5.1 innings, giving up only one unearned run. He has won both his starts since the all-star break, giving up only two runs in 13.1 innings pitched.

P- Tyler Anderson (vs. New York Mets): $7,700. Anderson is facing an offense who has struggled all season long. Over the last seven days, the Mets are ranked 28th in OPS and 29th in runs scored. Over Anderson’s last eight starts, he has given up no more than three runs in seven of those starts. He has also walked two or fewer batters in those starts, which is great for daily fantasy.

Daily Fantasy MLB DFS Picks For DraftKings – 7/27/16

PJon Gray (vs. Baltimore Orioles): $10,500. The Orioles have been horrendous over the last seven games. They are ranked last in OPS with a .599. Meanwhile, Jon Gray has been absolutely filthy over his last few starts. In his last three starts, Gray has struck out at least eight batters and he has only given up three runs in 20.1 innings pitched. Over his last 11 starts, he owns a 2.93 ERA.

P – Matt Moore (vs. Los Angeles Dodgers): $7,500. Over his last nine starts, Moore has thrown at least six innings. He is facing a Dodgers’ lineup who has struggled mightily against left-handed pitching. In 831 at bats against lefties, the Dodgers are batting .218, with a .295 OBP, and a .350 slugging percentage.

LM OTERO – AP

Adrian Beltre got 4 hits including 2 homers. The second one was a 2 out, 2 run, come from behind walk off shot to propel the Rangers to a 7-6 final over Oakland.

Aaron Sanchez threw 7 innings with no earned runs and 7 strikeouts to earn the 4-2 decision for the Blue Jays over San Diego.

Jay Bruce slammed a pair of 2 run homers to help the Reds sink the struggling Giants, 7-5.

Jeremy Hellickson threw 6 innings of 1 hit shutout ball. He did not get the decision but set up the Phillies 4-0 blanking of the Marlins.

Daily Fantasy MLB DFS Picks For DraftKings 7/26/16

P- Felix Hernandez (vs. Pittsburgh Pirates): $8,600. The Pirates offense has struggled over the last seven days. In that time span they are batting .237, with a .297 OBP, and a .678 OPS. In 109 career at bats against Felix, the Pirates offense is batting .165, with a .229 OBP, .249 slugging percentage, and 35 strikeouts. He is coming off an injury and a rough first start, but his career numbers against the Pirates makes me very confident in this pick.

P- Ervin Santana (vs. Atlanta Braves): $7,800. In 139 career at bats against Santana, the Braves’ lineup is batting .223, with .251 OBP, .454 slugging percentage, and 28 strikeouts. Santana has been on a great hot streak recently. Over his last six starts, he owns a 2-1 record, and a 2.03 ERA.

Jose Altuve went 3 for 5 with 2 homers and 6 RBI to lead the surging Astros past the Angels, 13-3.

Jesse Hahn pitched scoreless ball into the 8th, finishing with 7 1/3 innings, 1 run and 5 hits. The bullpen would blow his lead but the A’s would go on to defeat the Rays, 3-2.

Yasmany Tomas collected 3 hits including 2 homers as Arizona won a wild 9-8 game in Cincinnati.

Steven Matz threw 6 shutout innings, striking out 6 Marlins and allowing just 4 hits as the Mets won, 3-0.

Daily Fantasy MLB DFS Picks For DraftKings 7/25/16

P- Carlos Martinez (vs. New York Mets): $11,400. Martinez has been very reliable in daily fantasy all year long. In fact, he hasn’t allowed more than three runs in a start since late May. He continues to pitch deep into games, which is great in DraftKings. The Mets offense has been brutal all season long and they have struggled to produce runs over the last seven games, so this should be very favorable for Martinez.

P- Jeremy Hellickson (vs. Miami Marlins): $8,300. In 139 career at bats against Hellickson, the Marlins’ lineup is only batting .216, with a .243 OBP, and a .365 slugging percentage. Hellickson should be on his A-game with the trade deadline right around the corner if he wants to be dealt to a competing team. In his last start against the Marlins, he held them to one earned run, on five hits in eight innings pitched.

SEE THE REST OF THE PICKS

Daily Fantasy MLB DFS Picks For DraftKings 7/24/16

P- Jon Lester (vs. Milwaukee Brewers): $10,600. In four career starts against the Brewers, Lester holds a 2.22 ERA with a 2-2 record. Lester has been impressive all year long. He currently owns a 10-4 record, with a 2.89 ERA, and 111 strikeouts in 118.1 innings pitched. Milwaukee ranks in the bottom third in the MLB against left-handed pitching this year, so this favors Lester on Sunday.

P- Rick Porcello (vs. Minnesota Twins): $9,200. Porcello has been on fire over his last four starts as he is unbeaten. In his last time out against the Twins, he gave up only one earned run over seven innings pitched. Throughout the last five years, Porcello has dominated every hitter in the Twins’ lineup, so I don’t see anything different happening on Sunday.

Kevin Gausman threw 7 shutout innings, striking out 7 Indians and earned the 5-2 victory for Baltimore.

P- Max Scherzer (vs. San Diego Padres): $13,100. In 112 career at bats against Scherzer, the Padres’ lineup is batting .134, with four RBIs, and a .190 OBP. Over his last nine starts, Scherzer owns a 1.61 ERA, with 81 strikeouts, and 13 walks in 61.1 innings pitched. Needless to say, he is a great start on Saturday.

P- Kendall Graveman (vs. Tampa Bay Rays): $7,900. Over his last seven starts, Graveman owns a 4-0 record, with a 2.64 ERA. While he hasn’t faced the Rays’ lineup very much throughout his career, he has shown some success by holding them to a .213 batting average and a .368 slugging percentage.

Daily Fantasy MLB DFS Picks For DraftKings 7/21/16

P – Adam Wainwright (vs. San Diego Padres): $10,400. First of all, Thursday’s slate is brutal for pitching match-ups because there are only nine games. With that said, Wainwright is by far the hottest pitcher taking the mound. Over his last three starts, he owns a 0.39 ERA, 3-0 record, and 19 strikeouts in 23 innings pitched. In his last start, he shutout the Marlins while only giving up three hits. In his first start against the Padres this season, he went six innings and gave up three earned runs.

P – Matt Moore (vs. Oakland A’s): $7,600. The Athletics have been very mediocre against left-handed pitcher this season (.737 OPS), so Moore should have an advantage. Moore’s strikeout numbers have been down over his last three starts, but he has gone very deep into game recently to make up for the lack of K’s. During his last start, Moore threw eight innings against the Orioles.

Chase Utley went 3 for 5 with a homer in the Dodgers 8-4 win against the Angels.

Blake Snell struck out 9 Rockies and allowed only one hit over 6 innings as Seattle cruised to 10-1.

Albert Pujols hit a pair of 3 run homers and added another hit to lead the Angels past the Rangers, 8-5.

Daily Fantasy MLB DFS Picks For DraftKings 7/20/16

I’m sorry for getting these picks out so late. I was unfortunately involved in a small car accident, which took forever to sort out. I am completely fine and so is my truck, but it has been a long night. Due to the late post, I’m not going to post explanations for each pick. If you have any specific questions about players, please feel free to reach out to me on social media.

P – Felix Hernandez (vs. Chicago White Sox): $10,100

Jarrod Dyson reached base 3 times and hit a critical grand slam in the Royals 7-3 defeat of the Indians.

Matt Boyd threw 6 shutout innings, striking out 7 and earning Detroit’s 1-0 decision over the Twins.

Jedd Gyorko reached base 4 times, homered and helped the Cardinals slug the Padres 10-2.

Jose Fernandez struck out 14 Phillies in 6 1/3 innings, giving up 4 hits and 2 runs. He would not factor in the decision but helped set up the 3-2 Marlins win.

Daily Fantasy MLB DFS Picks For DraftKings – 7/19/16

P – Carlos Martinez (vs. San Diego Padres): $10,200. Martinez has been on fire recently. Over his last six starts, Martinez has allowed a total of six runs, which is just insane. Over his last three starts, he owns a 2.00 ERA and 21 strikeouts in 18 innings pitched. The Padres lineup hasn’t faced CMart very much throughout his career, so this could bring about an element of surprise while he has been red hot.

P – Dallas Keuchel (vs. Oakland Athletics): $8,200. It looks like Keuchel is finally heading in the right direction after a rough start to 2016. Over his last five starts, he owns a 3-0 record, 2.78 ERA, and a 1.18 WHIP. The Astros offense has been red hot recently, so he should get the run support necessary to come out with a win on Tuesday.

Daily Fantasy MLB DFS Picks For DraftKings – 7/18/16

P – Chris Sale (vs. Seattle Mariners): $12,200. In 78 career at bats against Sale, the Mariners’ lineup is batting .205, with 27 strikeouts, and a .254 OBP. Sale leads the majors with 14 wins this season. He also owns a 3.38 ERA, with 104 hits against, 123 strikeouts, and only 26 walks in 125 innings pitched.

P – Mike Fiers (vs. Oakland Althletics): $5,500. This pick scares me a little bit, but in order to afford my stack against Ivan Nova, this was a necessary play. Fiers has been hit or miss this season. He owns a 6-3 record, with a 4.36 ERA 64 strikeouts, and 21 walks in 93 innings pitched. He is playing in a pitcher friendly stadium against a division rival, so I’m hoping he will be on his “A” game.

Matt Shoemaker threw a complete game 6 hit shutout, striking out 13 White Sox and gave the Angels a razor thin 1-0 victory.

Adam Wainwright went the distance, allowing 3 hits and no runs to lead St. Louis past Miami, 5-0.

Khris Davis homered twice in the A’s 5-4 victory over Toronto.

Jake Lamb doubled twice and tripled, tying the game in the 9th and helped set up the winning rally in the 12th as Arizona topped the Dodgers 2-1.

Daily Fantasy MLB DFS Picks For DraftKings 7/17/16

P- Johnny Cueto (vs. San Diego Padres): $13,100. To say that Cueto has dominated the Padres this season would be an understatement. In his three of his starts against San Diego this year, Cueto has thrown a complete game in every one. In 116 at bats against the righty, the Padres’ offense is batting .259, with 31 strikeouts, and a .293 OBP.

P- Zach Davies (vs. Cincinnati Reds): $6,400. Over his last eight starts, Davies owns a 2.90 ERA. He isn’t going to put up elite numbers in daily fantasy, but he should be able to put up above average statistics against a below average Reds’ offense.

P- Lance McCullers (vs. Seattle Mariners): $9,800. McCullers has been on fire recently. Over his last three starts, he has a 1-1 record, 2.70 ERA, and 22 strikeouts in 16.2 innings pitched. In his last time on the mound against the Mariners, he struck out 10 over seven innings.

P- Jerad Eickhoff (vs. New York Mets): $7,800. The Mets offense has struggled with run production all season long. In 18 starts this season, Eickhoff has a 6-10 record, 3.80 ERA, 94 strikeouts, and 29 walks in 109 innings pitched. He doesn’t get great run support, but he is a steal for only $7,800.

Midseason Top 100 MLB Prospect Rankings Analysis (31-40)

Below you can find my analysis for the prospects ranked between 31-40 for the 2016 midseason top prospect list. If you want to see the full top 100 list, please visit the following link: SEE THE TOP 100 PROSPECT RANKINGS. I will be posting daily analysis of every player listed in the top 100, so please follow my blog and other social media for updates.

  1. Willy Adames (TB, 20 Years Old, SS): Adames has developed quite nicely over the last few seasons. At 20 years old, he is showing great success in Double-A. In 360 plate appearances, he is batting .264, with eight home runs, nine stolen bases, and a .365 OBP. After a slow 2015 season, Adames has rebounded very nicely after his promotion in 2016. He is starting to show more power, speed, and he is getting on base at a better rate. I don’t think he will ever be an elite fantasy baseball player, but he should be average-to-above average.
