Justin Verlander went the distance, giving up 5 hits, 1 walk and 2 runs while striking out 11 Astros as the Tigers walked off with the 3-2 victory.

Braden Shipley threw 6 shutout innings, giving up 5 hits and 1 walk and earned the 4-2 decision for the Diamondbacks over the Dodgers.

Jason Kipnis reached base 3 times, including a double and a homer, scoring twice and driving in a pair to lead Cleveland past Oakland, 6-3.

Hernan Perez collected 3 hits, including a homer, and drove in 3 to help Milwaukee top the Pirates, 5-3.

 Ian Kennedy threw 7 strong innings, allowing 1 run, no walks and 6 strikeouts. He would get a no decision as the Royals fell short to Texas, 2-1.

Jake Arrieta allowed 2 hits and 2 runs over 7 innings but absorbed the tough luck 4-1 Cubs loss to Seattle.

Eduardo Escobar went 3 for 5 with a homer and 3 RBI but the Twins lost to the White Sox, 6-5 in 10 innings.

Adonis Garcia got on base 3 times, scored twice and drove in a run in Atlanta’s 9-5 loss to the Phillies.
