Who Owns October (#WOO) Tallies Updated For October 3, 2018
This Wild Card Game wasn’t the thriller that the National League marathon was. But it was decisive win for the Yankees who still have visions of a World Series dancing in their heads.
Aaron Judge is the straw that stirs the Yankees drink… and boy did he stir it tonight!
So who owned October?
Each winning team for every post season game gets a pitcher and a hitter who earn a full WOO (Who Owns October.)
And at my discretion, I award a 1/2 WOO’S to a worthy player on the losing team.
At the end of the post season, we will see who had the highest WOO total as a pitcher and a hitter.
A complete description of the rules can be found HERE.
From October 3
American League Wild Card Game:
Receiving 1 WOO
Dellin Betances came out of the bullpen to throw 2 key shutout innings, striking out 3 Oakland batters, allowing no hits and no runs and earned the 7-2 decision for the Yankees.
Aaron Judge homered as the second Yankee batter of the game to give them a 2-0 lead. He would reach base 3 times altogether, adding a double and another run to beat Oakland, 7-2.
Receiving 1/2 WOO
Khris Davis launched a 2 run homer to provide all of the A’s offense in the 7-2 Wild Card loss to the Yankees.
Lou Trivino stopped the bleeding with 3 innings of shutout ball, allowing a single hit and walk while striking out 4 Yankees. It was too little too late as Oakland lost the Wild Card Game, 7-2.
