Enough is enough. The Commissioner of Baseball needs to remove Jeffrey Loria

The city of Miami could work as a baseball market. But we will never know if Loria continues to run the team.

It is a remove talents from South Beach episode of The Sully Baseball Daily Podcast.

Justin Verlander, Stephen Strasburg, Nomar Mazara, Gregory Polanco, Julio Teheran, Chris Tillman, Coco Crisp and Marcell Ozuna all added to their totals for Who Owns Baseball yesterday.

At the quarter mark of the season, the Phillies and Marlins might be tricked into thinking they are contenders. Meanwhile the White Sox can make a move that would turn them into favorites.

It is a take a long look in the mirror episode of The Sully Baseball Daily Podcast.

Clayton Kershaw (barely over Johnny Cueto), Ichiro Suzuki, Rich Hill, Miguel Cabrera, Drew Pomeranz, Tommy Joseph, Brandon Guyer and Derek Holland all added to their totals for Who Owns Baseball yesterday.

Ichiro Suzuki marched closer to 3,000 hits with another 4 hit day, scoring one and driving in another in Miami’s 7-6 win over the Rays.

David Ortiz reached base 5 times, including 2 doubles and a homer, driving in 3 and helping the Red Sox top Cleveland, 5-2. If not for a strange hop in centerfield, he would have had the cycle.

Nine Innings/Questions With Dodgers Blue Heaven: A New BBBA Featured Series Of Its Members

    Blue-Heaven-Blog-Header

Note From Chuck Booth:  We have some talented bloggers at the Baseball Bloggers Alliance, and our Executive Committee member (Peter Schiller) is going to start doing an article series interviewing them.  Today he asks our friend Ernest Reyes about his Dodgers site.

If you are a fan of these teams, I recommend to read their insights – and to also follow their blogs. Peter is a good man.  He gave me my first chance ever to have an authorship page at his site over 7 years ago.

Peter Schiller (Featured BBBA Executive Committee Member/Writer/Owner – baseballreflections.com)

If you like what you read below, check out more from Ernest Reyes  at his site,  Dodgers Blue Heaven!

This is the first in a series of me asking fellow bloggers from the Baseball Bloggers Alliance (BBBA) 9 innings worth of questions about their team.

The goal is to do this for as many teams as possible (all 30 would be ideal) a few times a season. This one is a pre-All Star edition, then a post-All Star edition, another down the stretch (towards the end of the season) and then either a playoffs edition or off season edition or both!

    So, without further ado …

    1. How are the Dodgers’ offseason acquisitions working out so far? Any concerns?

This is a bit of a mixed bag.

What Is The Deal At The Deadline: Braves And Twins?

    atlanta-braves-logo

Jordan Gluck (MLB Reports Writer/Part Owner)

I will be doing this series as the season rolls along. I will focus first at teams that are basically not in contention anymore and teams that are very far ahead and are almost assured to be buyers. I will focus on assets that are likely to be traded and not like general assets like Byron Buxton who is very talented but very unlikely to be traded. As of now these are the only 2 teams who are definite barring a miracle to be sellers.

    Atlanta Braves

Lets be honest everybody and their grandmother knew the Braves were going to suck this season and are aiming for 2017 and later when their new stadium opens in Cobb County. They don’t have much to sell by design and will look to free up cash to go nuts in free agency at the end of the season and with trades. They already have a top tier farm system which maybe the best in baseball at this point.

As of now they have committed a paltry 44M to next seasons payroll. Four players contribute to the bulk of that in Freddie Freeman 20M, Nick Markakis 11M, Hector Olivera 10.5M and Julio Teheran 6.5M. They have a few arbitration cases which remain small and a club option on Jason Grilli. Keep in mind this team will have the ability to eat cash if needed to get better prospects. Here are the players which could be moved. Read the rest of this entry

Washington Nationals’ Top Prospect, Trea Turner, Could Be Called Up On May 30th

    usa-today-9175845.0

Trey Rose (Featured BBBA Fantasy Baseball Writer/Owner – dynastydigest.sportsblog.com)

The Washington Nationals are currently sitting at the top of the National League East standings, but they are starting to slip. The New York Mets, Philadelphia Phillies, and Miami Marlins are all within two games of the first place spot in the East.

In order to hold onto their current position, the Nationals must start creating more run production opportunities. This problem can be easily fixed with one move, call up star prospect, Trea Turner.

In Triple-A, Turner is currently batting .324, with 3 home runs, 17 RBIs, 32 runs, 14 stolen bases, and a .387 OBP. These numbers scream run production. Not only are his numbers fantastic, but the player he would be replacing has done nothing but struggle at the plate.

Nationals’ starting shortstop, Danny Espinosa, is currently batting .208, with 3 home runs, 14 RBIs, 8 runs, 1 stolen base, and a .307 OBP. Based on these numbers, many people must be wondering why Trea Turner hasn’t gotten a promotion in 2016, but there is a simple answer to this, service time.

MLB Trade Rumors: Matt Kemp To The Seattle Mariners

    a matt kemp

Trey Rose (Featured BBBA Fantasy Baseball Writer/Owner – dynastydigest.sportsblog.com)

Matt Kemp has had quite the 2016 campaign so far for the San Diego Padres. In 167 plate appearances, he is batting .244, with 10 home runs, 29 RBIs, and 20 runs. While he doesn’t have the value he once did, he could improve many competing teams who have a lack of talent in their outfield.

His power and run production could be a big boost to many lineups, including the Seattle Mariners.

The Mariners are currently 22-17 and sitting at the top of the American League West. They aren’t necessarily struggling with run production, but their outfield doesn’t strike fear int

o many pitcher’s eyes. Their outfield is currently manned by Nori Aoki (.224 BA, 0 HR, 6 RBIs, 20 R, 2 SB), Leonys Martin (.203 BA, 6 HR, 14 RBIs, 16 R, 7 SB), and Seth Smith (.240 BA, 4 HR, 14 RBIs, 18 R). Realistically, Kemp could take over for any one of these players and provide an upgrade to the Mariners’ lineup.

What Is Taking So Long With The Angels And Tim Lincecum Deal?

Trey Rose (Featured BBBA Fantasy Baseball Writer/Owner – dynastydigest.sportsblog.com)

Which team will sign former Cy Young Award winner, Tim Lincecum? It is a question many baseball fans have been pondering for weeks. It looks like we could have an answer very soon.

It was reported a few days ago that Lincecum signed with the Los Angeles Angels, but there is no finalized answer quite yet. The deal is pending a physical, but it has been nearly three days since hearing any verdict of the final decision.
