Carlos Villanueva came out of the bullpen and threw three perfect extra innings. The Padres would eventually drop the 17 inning marathon to the Dodgers, 9-5.

Melvin Upton Jr. got three hits including a game tying triple. The Padres fell 9-5 in a tense 17 inning struggle with the Dodgers.
