Money Lines For MLB Games Played Tuesday Apr 4, 2017

It is simple.  ALL year we are betting $1 on all the underdogs for as many of the 2430 Games we can.

We are trying to validate a point that daily wagering is decent to follow this formula.

Each day we intend to update the results on this page.

On the mainpages of the site, where the blog posts go in timely order, we also are going to post the daily MLB Schedule and all Open Lines available at the time of publishing.

In addition to the DFS daily posts for FanDuel, DraftKings, and overall player selection posts daily, there will be that post of morning lines.

Once a week the Odds to win the World Series will be done on a post, and once every 2 weeks the Pennant Winner Odds, and Division Odds will be posted.

At the ALL – Star Break we will have a great breakdown blog of the HR Derby.  We have won money on this contest four years in a row.

We have you covered for wagering all year long.

A Fun Way For Fans To Track Runs Scoring For Teams This Season: MLB Runs Scoring Survivor 2017

For years we ran this entire category until all clubs had finished the task, this year we are encouraging readers to copy and paste this chart below and follow for themselves.

What Runs Survivor is, a MLB team scoring 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9, 10 or (10+) in different games throughout the course of the season.  If you score exactly 10 it still works for 10 (or 10+)

Once a club has one of these run totals once, you cross it off and keep going until they complete the 11 different variations. 

As the runs come in on a daily basis, we will keep erasing the numbers beside the team until the last team wins.

When a club finishes the 11 different totals, please chart how many Games Played the team has at the time.  If another team ties them for Games Played, the highest run total in the Final runs total erased will act as the tiebreaker Read the rest of this entry

MLB Power Rankings 2017: Week 1 – Apr

Disclaimer:  We based these rankings on best strength to win the World Series.  Therefore some teams that have an easier division to play in, with the least path of resistance to the postseason overall may be ranked a lot higher than a club who is equally talented, yet may play in a juggernaut of a division.

Chicago Cubs (1):  The Cubs are the defending champions, and with the amount of talent they were able to bring back, plus add Kyle Schwarber for a full year, this spells they will sleepwalk to their Division again this season

At the MLB Reports we stated that we believe that another club may even win more games than Chicago, but this may be a product of Joe Maddon resting guys ultimately throughout the campaign.

Season duplicating from Kyle Hendricks and John Lackey will be harder to reel in.  The loss of Dexter Fowler is not replaced by Jon Jay.

If the Cardinals or the Pirates are able to push the Cubs, then the 100 win plateau may still be valid.  Chicago wins the NL Central by 10 games in our view. Read the rest of this entry

Chuck Booth Hosts A New Podcast Called “Every Day Chucker”: Well For At Least The Next 8 Days

Chuck Booth hosts his 1st ever solo ‘Podcast’ called the “Every Day” Chucker Podcast.  He salutes Sully Baseball’s Podcast, as Sully ends his 1622 Days straight with a podcast show (usually 20 minutes).

Chuck wonders how many days he will do in a row (around 20 minutes), but vows to do at least 8!  Then it is time for season predictions and who will finish where and who will win the 2017 MLB World Series.

Show correction.  Chuck meant to say Miami Marlins personal loss of Jose Ferandez, and not Atlanta Braves tragedy.

Note:  Chuck will only be using SoundCloud for the podcasts.  This is not his real function as a Website Owner, but this is just to fill a gap for a while after Sully stops posting every day.

Odds To Win The 2017 MLB Home Run Crown

Manny Machado joins his teammates back in the lineup at home on Friday, where they mash everyone at Camden Yards, and in particular have great power numbers against LHP Matt Moore of the Tampa Bay Rays.. A great stacking option, and the O's are part of 4 So for four years in a row a Baltimore Orioles players has led the overall MLB in Homers. This year could be the 5th straight year if Chris Davis, Mark Trumbo or Manny Machado lead the league in homers. These 3 O's player cracked a combined 122 big flies in 2016. Trumbo clubbed 47 to lead all of the Majors. I had boldly said last year that Baltimore may challenge the ALL - time HR Record of 264 in a season held by the 1997 Seattle Mariners. The same could be said this year.

 So for four years in a row a Baltimore Orioles players has led the overall MLB in Homers. This year could be the 5th straight year if Chris Davis, Mark Trumbo or Manny Machado lead the league in homers. These 3 O’s player cracked a combined 122 big flies in 2016. On the top of the odds board is Giancarlo Stanton yet again.  The 2016 MLB ALL Star Game HR Derby Champ, amassed 27 HRs in 413 AB during 2016, but that was way down from 27 HRs in 279 AB during 2015.

The problem with Stanton is he always suffers and injury during a season.  He did lead the NL in 2014 with 37 HRs in his only full year in the last 5 seasons.  I may have eve picked him if he was not the favorite.  I will take a pass on him this year.

The 1st good odd that stands out to me is Nolan Arenado at +1500.  The Rockies premiere player has led the NL in HRs for the last 2 campaigns, smacking 42 HRs and 41 HRs respectively. 

It is not foreign to think he could approach 50 with this his Age 26 year forthcoming.

MLB Interleague Master Schedule In 2017: AL Looking To Speedbag The NL For A 14th Straight Year

We go over this every season, but I am shocked to not see that much coverage on the issue.  The American League has absolutely thrashed on the National League in Interleague for the last 13 years.

Don’t tell me this is an anomaly.  This is a massive trend.  Plus no, the answer is not to eliminate MLB Interleague to level out the playing field.

I am already not going to watch the ALL – Star Game this year because it doesn’t mean anything.  Yes. I may be in the minority of the game actually being worth something in the MidSmmer Classic.  For those keep scoring at home, the League that actually won the All Star Game incredibly played 3 less games than the loser thanks to MLB’s brilliant (insert sarcasm here) 2 – 3 – 2 format.

But I guess no one else remember’s guys high fiving each other in the dugout once they were lifted in the ALL – Star Game, so they could catch a plane.  I will watch the HR Derby, and that is it.  I digress. Read the rest of this entry

Philadelphia Phillies Optimistic About Heading To Spring Training In 2017

Philadelphia held a massive consecutive sellout streak from the time CBP was in its first year until the latter parts of their team starting to decline in 2012.   In 2015, the franchise finished 14th out of 15 clubs at the turnstiles with just 1.8 Million fans.  This was the second straight year of a huge decline.  For those reasons it is okay to slowly build this team up with salary.

Philadelphia held a massive consecutive sellout streak from the time CBP was in its first year until the latter parts of their team starting to decline in 2012. In 2015, the franchise finished 14th out of 15 clubs at the turnstiles with just 1.8 Million fans. This was the second straight year of a huge decline. For those reasons it is okay to slowly build this team up with salary.  Philadelphia even dipped below the $100 MIL barrier in 2016 for payroll, and managed to bump attendance up to 1.95 MIL fans.  With a projected payroll of $104.0 based on recent additions of Clay Buchholz and Howie Kendrick, the club will look to be a little more competitive in 2017, and rise that attendance beyond 2 MIL again.

The Philadelphia Phillies used to be a force to be reckoned with. “The team to beat” started their historic stretch in 2007, ripping off five straight National League East Division titles which included two trips to the World Series and a championship in 2008.

Players like Jimmy Rollins, Cole Hamels, Chase Utley, and Ryan Howard paved the way to the first championship team since 1980, but that all began to spiral out of control when Howard tore his achilles tendon during the final out of the 2011 NLDS.

Since then, the Phillies have not broken the .500 mark and the players that led the parade down Broad Street have moved on to other teams or left the game for good; the 2017 team is not the team of old. Read the rest of this entry

MLB Reports State Of The Union For 2017: 6 Year Anniversary For Us!!

It has been an incredible 6 years run for the MLB Reports but 2017 is going to redefine us as a major entity in the blogging landscape.  We are heading to a new platform pretty soon to better serve our readers, and to also enable us to expand to the content we need to post on a daily basis. 

Coming off the heels of our greatest ever season in 2016, we are ramping up production to new levels.

Our track record has been quite impressive since the inception, and we are hoping to keep up the momentum for our readers in the upcoming seasons.  We have no filters, extremely strong opinions, and if we aren’t pissing plenty of people off at any given time – then we are not doing our jobs correctly.

2017 Baseball’s Breakout Players at Each Position

C- J.T. Realmuto (Miami Marlins): Realmuto had a great year in 2016, but I expect him to maintain, if not improve in 2017. At only 25 years old, Realmuto has plenty of room for growth, but he is moving in the right direction. He has a rare combination of on base potential, speed, and power at the catching position. While I am a little worried about his .357 BABIP in 2016, his 8.8% HR/FB ratio tells me he could really tap into his power potential moving forward. There are plenty of decent offensive players in the Marlins lineup in 2017, so Realmuto should have plenty of opportunities to drive in runs or score himself. While he isn’t the most exciting breakout player, the catching position is a tough position to get excited about except for the top 3-5 players.

Projection: .290 BA, .340 OBP, 15 home runs, 65 runs, 65 RBIs, 13 stolen bases
