Madison Bumgarner not only dominated the Nationals with a complete game 3 hit 14 strikeout and 1 walk shutout but homered and doubled as well as the Giants rolled, 5-0.

Adam Jones reached base 4 times, including a pair of homers, driving in 3, as the Orioles clobbered Oakland 18-2.

Aramis Ramirez went 4 for 5 with a run scored and 3 driven in as the Pirates scored big late to beat the Mets 8-1.

Earning 1/2 WOBs on losing efforts.

Hector Santiago held Kansas City to 3 hits and 2 runs over 7 innings. The Angels bullpen would blow the lead in the 9th and the game in the 10th, 4-3.

Rubby De La Rosa allowed 1 run over 7 innings, scattering 7 hits. The Braves would walk off against the Diamondbacks, 2-1.

Miguel Cabrera got on base 4 times, including a double and a homer and 3 RBI. His Tigers would lose the game in the 9th to the Astros, 6-5.

Masahiro Tanaka gave the Yankees a much needed complete game, allowing 5 hits and 1 run while striking out 8 Blue Jays and earning the 4-1 victory.

Jackie Bradley Jr. became the youngest player in 100 years to collect 5 extra base hits in a game. He smacked 3 doubles and a pair of homers, scoring 5 and driving in 7 as the Red Sox stunned Seattle and King Felix, 22-10.

John Lackey pitched into the 9th, finishing with 8 1/3 innings, 2 runs, 1 walk and got the 6-2 decision for the Cardinals over the Marlins.

Scooter Gennett went 4 for 4 with a run scored and 2 RBI to help the Brewers top the Phillies, 4-2.

Matt Kemp became the first Padres batter in history to hit for the cycle, finishing the night 4-5 with 2 runs scored and 4 RBI in San Diego’s 9-5 victory in Colorado.

Jaime Garcia took a shutout into the 9th and finished with 8 1/3 innings, 6 hits and no earned runs, earning the 3-1 decision for the Cardinals over Miami.

Manny Machado made some dazzling defensive plays, reached base 3 times and launched a 2 run, bottom of the 13th walk off homer that won the 8-6 game for Baltimore over Oakland.

Corey Kluber allowed a solo homer and a walk and nothing else, throwing a complete game 1 hitter, striking out 7 to lead Cleveland past Minnesota, 6-1.

Earning 1/2 WOBs on losing efforts.

Joey Votto doubled and hit a 3 run homer, accounting for all of Cincinnati’s offense as they fell to the Dodgers 5-3.

Bartolo Colon pitched 7 innings, striking out 7 and allowing 1 run. He would not factor into the decision as the Mets fell to Pittsburgh, 3-2 in 10.

Coco Crisp hit 3 doubles and a single, driving in a run in the A’s 13 inning 8-6 loss in Baltimore.

David Price thrilled a frenzied Toronto crowd with 7 shutout innings and pitched into the 8th. The Blue Jays bullpen blew the lead and the Yankees came back to win, 4-3.

Mitch Moreland collected 4 hits including a 2 run double and a 2 run homer, helping the Rangers erase an early 4-0 hole and and win 6-5 in Minnesota.

Mark Buehrle pitched 7 strong innings, allowing 2 runs and striking out 8 to get the 4-2 decision for Toronto who swept Oakland for their 11th straight victory.

Kyle Schwarber reached base 4 times with a pair of homers and 4 RBI, helping the red hot Cubs crush the Brewers 9-2.

Noah Syndergaard allowed a pair of first inning homers and then settled down to keep the Rockies to 3 runs and 4 hits over 7 innings, and earned the 12-3 decision for the first place Mets.

They all owned baseball on August 13, 2015

Earning 1/2 WOBs on losing efforts.

Eric Hosmer singled and homered, scoring twice and driving in a pair in Kansas City’s 7-6 loss to the Angels.

Jeremy Guthrie held the Angels to 2 hits and 1 run over 6 innings. However the Royals bullpen had a very rare meltdown and lost the 7-6 game in the 9th.

Enrique Hernandez went 3 for 4 and added a walk but was stranded every time as the Dodgers lost to the Reds, 10-3.

Stephen Strasburg struck out 8 Giants in 6 innings but also let up a pair of runs and lost the 3-1 game for the Nationals.

Matt Harvey was solid into the 8th in a critical game for the Mets. He went 7 2/3 innings, allowing 1 run, 5 hits, no walks and struck out 9 Nationals batters. He got a no decision but the Mets walked off 2-1 winners in the 12th.

Who Owned Baseball July 26, 2015 (Daily AL/NL Pitcher + Hitter MVP’s) + 2015 #WOB Standings

David Ortiz capped off a magical day for Boston fans with a 4 for 5 performance, driving in 7 helped by a pair of 3 run homers and led to the drubbing of Detroit, 11-1.

Carlos Gonzalez reached base 4 times including a pair of homers, driving in 6 helping the Rockies top the Reds 17-7.

Eduardo Rodríguez pitched 7 strong innings, allowing just 3 hits, a run on a solo homer and 1 walk, earning a much needed 11-1 victory for the Red Sox over the Tigers.

Jacob deGrom took a shutout into the 8th finishing with 7 2/3 innings of 2 hit, 8 strikeout and 2 walk ball. He did not get the decision but the Mets topped the Dodgers in 10, 3-2.

Cole Hamels threw a no hit masterpiece in what could have been his final start for Philadelphia. He struck out 13 and walked only two in the 5-0 final which was the first no hitter of the Cubs since 1965.

Kirk Nieuwenhuis led an amazing Mets attack by reaching base 5 times, doubling and driving in 4 runs to clobber the Dodgers 15-2.

Miguel Gonzalez pitched into the 8th innings, allowing 5 hits, 1 run (on a solo homer) and no walks, earning a much needed victory for Baltimore over the Rays, 5-1.

Alex Rodriguez homered 3 times, including a game tying shot in the 9th, driving in 4 altogether and leading the Yankees to a stunning come from behind win over Minnesota, 8-5.

Trevor Plouffe singled, doubled and homered, leading Minnesota’s attack as they clobbered the Yankees 10-1.

Jose Altuve got 4 hits, including a double and a walk off homer, driving in 4 all together as the Astros beat the plummeting Red Sox, 5-4.

Ervin Santana threw 8 shutout 4 hit innings against his former club, the Angels, striking out 7 and walking none, earning the 3-0 decision for Minnesota.

Andrew McCutchen singled and scored in the first and put the game away with a 2 run homer in the 7th as Pittsburgh topped the Nationals 7-3.

Clayton Kershaw continued his dominance and retired the first 18 Mets he faced. He finished with a complete game, 3 hit shutout, walking none and striking out 11 and extended his scoreless inning streak to 29, notching a 3-0 victory for the Dodgers.

Joey Votto reached base 9 times over the course of a double header. The first game, a Reds 9-1 thrashing of the Cubs, he got on 4 times, homered and scored 3 runs. In the night cap, a Cubs 6-5 win, he got a pair of hits and walked 3 times but was stranded each time.

Preston Tucker homered twice, added a double and drove in 3 runs to help Houston top spiraling Boston 4-2.

 

Mike Leake went 8 strong innings in what could be his final Cincinnati start, allowing 4 hits, no walks and 1 run in the 9-1 decision over the Cubs.

Edinson Volquez gave the battered Royals rotation a much needed quality start, going 7 2/3 innings, allowing 8 hits, 1 walk and 1 strikeout in the 5-1 victory over Pittsburgh.

Kyle Schwarber singled, doubled and hit a game tying homer in the 9th and a the eventual game winning homer in the 13th to give the Cubs a 5-4 win in Cincinnati.

Mark Buehrle pitched 7 strong innings, allowing 1 run and walking none, earning the 7-1 decision for the Blue Jays in Oakland.

Chris Heston held the Padres hitless for 5 innings and finished with 7 1/3 shutout 1 hit innings with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts as the Giants rolled, 9-3.

Albert Pujols had an incredible double header for the Angels. He went 2 for 4 in the first game, reached base 3 times in the second and went a combined 4 for 7 with a walk, 3 homers , 5 runs scored and 4 RBI in the sweep of the Red Sox, 11-1 in the opener, 7-3 in the night cap.

Travis Ishikawa homered and doubled twice, scoring once and driving in 4 as the Pirates won a wild potential World Series preview in Kansas City, 10-7.

Rubby De La Rosa gave the Diamondbacks 7 strong innings, allowing 5 hits and 1 run, earning the 3-1 decision over Miami.

Andrew Heaney pitched another fine game for the Angels, going 7 innings, allowing 5 hits, 2 runs and no walks to defeat Boston, 7-3.
