Sonny Gray went the distance, allowing 5 Astro hits, no walks and a single run on a solo shot in a 3-1 complete game victory in Oakland.

Mike Trout celebrated his birthday by reaching base 4 times, including a homer, scoring twice and throwing a runner out at second, helping the Angels gain a game in the AL West with an 8-4 defeat of the Orioles.

Chase Anderson tossed 7 shutout innings, striking out 7 and earned the 2-0 decision for Arizona over the Reds.

Dexter Fowler singled, doubled and homered with a steal and 2 runs scored helping the Cubs past San Francisco, 7-3.

Who Owned Baseball August 6, 2015 (Daily AL/NL Pitcher + Hitter MVP’s) + 2015 #WOB Standings

 Ian Kinsler got a pair of hits, the second being a 2 run walk off bottom of the 9th homer that gave the Tigers an 8-6 win over Kansas City.

Khris Davis singled and homered twice, driving in 6 runs, leading Milwaukee past San Diego 10-1.

Mark Buehrle went 7 innings, allowing 5 hits, 3 runs and a single walk as Toronto continued its winning streak with a 9-3 drubbing of the Twins.

Michael Wacha pitched 7 shutout innings, allowing 4 hits and 2 walks, earning the 3-0 decision for the Cardinals over the Reds.

They all owned baseball on August 6, 2015.

Who Owned Baseball August 5, 2015 (Daily AL/NL Pitcher + Hitter MVP’s) + 2015 #WOB Standings

Steven Wright pitched 8 dominating innings, allowing 1 run on a solo homer, h hits, 2 walks and struck out 9 Yankee batters to earn the decision for the Red Sox in a 2-1 thriller.

Chris Davis got 2 hits including a 10th inning grand slam that put the Orioles up for good in a 7-3 victory in Oakland.

Matt Harvey threw 7 innings of 2 hit, no walk shutout ball, striking out 6 Miami batters and helping the Mets extend their Division lead with an 8-6 win.

Yasiel Puig hit a 3 run homer and reached base 2 more times to help lead the Dodgers past the Phillies, 4-3.

Who Owned Baseball August 4, 2015 (Daily AL/NL Pitcher + Hitter MVP’s) + 2015 #WOB Standings

Carlos Carrasco allowed 1 hit and 1 walk over 9 shutout innings where he struck out 7 Angels batters. He would not get the decision but helped set up the Indians 2-0 win in 12 innings.

Chris Young led a late Yankee offensive explosion by reaching base 4 times (including a homer) scoring 4 and driving in 3 in a 13-3 drubbing of Boston.

Jake Arrieta pitched 7 innings of 2 hit shutout ball, striking out 5 Pirates and earning the 5-0 decision for the Cubs.

Matt Duffy went 4 for 5 with a stolen base, a game tying 8th inning double and came around to score on the go ahead homer as the Giants came from behind to beat Atlanta, 8-3.

Adrian Beltre hit for the cycle for the third time in his career, finishing with 3 RBI while leading the suddenly contending Rangers past Houston in a wild 12-9 slugfest.

A. J. Pierzynski collected 4 hits including a 2 out, bottom of the 9th game tying homer and threw out a key base stealer in extra innings as the Braves stunned San Francisco 9-8 in 12 innings.

David Price made his Blue Jays debut a memorable one, going 8 innings, allowing 3 runs, a run on a solo homers, and struck out 11 Minnesota batters to earn the 5-1 decision and put Toronto in a tie for a Wild Card spot.

Bartolo Colon went 8 innings, allowing 1 run and walking none in the process to earn the 12-1 blow out win for the Mets against Miami.

Andre Ethier hit a go ahead homer in the 8th and a walk off shot in the 10th to give the Dodgers a 5-3 victory against the Angels.

Stephen Drew singled, doubled and tripled, driving in 4 runs, helping the Yankees clobber the White Sox 12-3.

Noah Syndergaard pitched 8 strong innings, holding Washington to 2 runs on 2 solo homers, striking out 9 and walking none as the Mets swept into a first place tie winning 5-2.

Martín Pérez shutdown the hot San Francisco bats with 8 1/3 solid innings, allowing 2 hits, 1 run and no walks, earning the 2-1 decision for Texas.

Lucas Duda was a one man wrecking crew in a critical divisional rival match up. He reached base 4 times, homered twice and his an RBI double in the 8th, driving in all of the Mets wins as they won a dramatic 3-2 game against Washington.

Travis Shaw reached base 5 times, doubling and homering twice, driving in 3 and scoring 5 as the Red Sox rocked the Rays, 11-7.

Clayton Kershaw continued to dominate, throwing 8 shutout innings, allowing 2 hits, 1 walk and 7 strikeouts to lead the Dodgers past the Angels, 3-1.

Aaron Brooks pitched into the 8th, finishing with 7 1/3 innings, 5 hits, 1 run on a solo homer and no walks while winning his A’s debut, 5-1 over Cleveland.

The franchise had added Veteran  Starting Pitching this year and look as strong as ever to end the 28 year Playoff Drought.  The management and ownership has spent more money than any Royals team in club history.  The will probably battle with the Detroit Tigers all season long for the AL Central Division
