It is Sunday and time for The Sunday Request.
@sullybaseball Sunday request. Why do you think the @Orioles constantly get overlooked by the national media? They are a legit contender.

Some of us underestimated the Orioles but the real question is why do you care about the National Media?

Daily Matchups for 7/22/2016
Pitcher
STUDS
Honestly can see that Bumgarner gets rocked tonight by the Yankees. I’m not going to have much exposure or at least enough exposure to warrant a write up on why I want to use him. He’s given up a .292 BA in 96 ABs and I don’t think you should use him.
Masahiro Tanaka– He’s only faced the current Giants’ roster for 6 ABs but Tanaka has been almost lights out for the Yankees lately. They have come out of the All-Star Break winning 7 of their last 11 while the Giants are the exact opposite as they are losing more than winning. I think a lot of people will be looking towards MadBum but we can look elsewhere and save money.
Brandon McCarthy– He could very well be the surprise of the year and the comeback story if we continues his dominance. So far this season McCarthy has pitched 16 innings, he has 2 wins, 22 Ks, a 1.69 ERA and he’s coming off a game against the Diamondbacks where he pitched 6 innings, 8 Ks and 0 ERs. Lifetime against the Cardinals he has held them to a .175 BA (7 for 40) with a 15.9% K-rate, 2.3% walk-rate, 7 strikeouts, 14 groundouts. The Cardinals aren’t the same hitting team and he could go very under-owned tonight.
MID RANGE
Tanner Roark– He’s facing the Padres who struggle against right handed pitching and Roark has been phenomenal as of late. Lifetime against the Pads he’s held them to a .170 BA (9 for 53) with a 21.4% K-Rate with only a 3.6% W-Rate. Roark has struck out 12, gotten 12 groundouts, 8 flyouts, and only given up 1 HR.
Adam Conley– Conley gets to go up against the Mets who struggle against left-handed pitchers. Conley has done well against the Mets in his career by holding them to a .132 BA (5 for 38) with a 31.7% K-Rate, 4.9% W-Rate. HE will go very under-owned as there are other options and absolutely love him tonight.
Michael Fulmer– He’s having a tremendous year as he’s 9-2 while allowing only 63 hits, 28 walks, 77 Ks with a 2.13 ERA. He’s facing a reeling White Sox team that Fulmer has never seen before. He’s honestly had 1 bad game (19 FP) vs. Seattle back on June 22nd and the rest have been better than that. He’s had back to back 33 FP games and then 63 FP against Tampa on July 1. I won’t be surprised if Fulmer gets 30+ FP again tonight.
VALUE
James Paxton– There’s a reasono he’s a value play and why he’s only a GPP option. He’s facing the Blue Jays which is a lineup that could scare anyone and that’s what we need from a pitcher as he should go under-owned. Paxton has held the Jays to a .105 BA (2 for 19) with 4 Ks and 4 walks. He’s cheap and could provide that that salary relief we need.
Dan Straily– He hasn’t faced many of these D-Backs but he has faced 7 of them and struck out 5. Arizona is a weak hitting team and take them out of Chase Field, Straily could be the play of the night.

Why Our MLB DFS Strategy Is Working On FanDuel

We use at least one ace, one midlevel and one bargain pitcher in Fanduel to create the pyramid scale effect on the positional players. Point blank, the more rosters we couple with the pitchers, the more variations we cover, potentially swaying a top roster for that will cash a high prize. If we connect on our team stacks and pitchers with a high reguarity, nothing should phase us from hitting a prize, as other lineups that go down, will see other come shooting up the other side. We never use the same lineup 2 times in our max entries contests.
BY Hugh Hawkins
Our new Draft Strategy For MLB Fanduel is now here. Please read after the post. You can use our formula for your own wanted and given stacks and pitchers. This process wheels them all in alignment.
So we have been playing FanDuel with our new formula all year. and have had a profitable year with it. Our daily posts have seen a lot of increases in views so thanks to all of the readers! MLB Daily Fantasy Sports is without a doubt the toughest thing to win at consistently, even for the best handicappers.
On Tuesday night was just another reason why our system gives a great chance to win a GPP tournament.
We rostered 9 teams to be wheeled in stacks with 4 Starting Pitchers. We had the max amount of entries permitted in the $1 Sac Fly contest (150).
The best stacks of the night were the Rangers, Angels and Rays, with the pitchers that brought home great efforts being Aaron Sanchez and Jose Quintana. We had those guys. Unfortunately we also had a rainout in St. Louis effectively kill 25% of our rosters.
The weather and roster locks on FD make it even tougher to win money. Read the rest of this entry
Have the Mariners Just Given Up On 2016?
The Seattle Mariners are just about in the race for a playoff berth. An improbable 6-5 win over the White Sox in 11 innings last night, after having been down 5-2 in the 7th, leaves the team 6.5 games behind the slumping Rangers in the AL West and 5.5 behind the final Wild Card spot.
For most clubs at this time of the year this would dictate aggressively approaching the trade market in an attempt to force their way into the postseason. Yet with yesterday’s trade between the Mariners and Cubs, with Mike Montgomery heading to Chicago in return for Triple-A slugger Dan Vogelbach, have the Mariners just revealed their hand?
The instant reaction to the trade has been one of quiet satisfaction on both sides, the Cubs got their high-leverage lefty out of the pen without having to pay an astronomical price for Andrew Miller or Aroldis Chapman from the Yankees. Vogelbach also represents good value for the Mariners, offering insurance for a declining Adam Lind and plenty of upside on top of that. Furthermore, Vogelbach’s route to the Majors with the Cubs was blocked by Anthony Rizzo who isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
Yet still – has a seemingly even and mutually beneficial swap signaled the Mariners’ intentions that 2016 is not to be their year, thereby positioning themselves as sellers come the deadline on July 31st? To answer this question, 3 factors need to be considered:
- Just how good is Mike Montgomery?
- Can Dan Vogelbach improve the Mariners this year?
- Finally, does the Mariners current record of 48-47 reflect their potential?

This slate is not a very good one. The pitching is not good and it might be for the best to just take a break from DFS and come back strong on Friday. Alas, we will still try to break down some of the plays we like tonight.
Daily Matchups for 7/21/2016
Pitcher
STUDS
Stephen Strasburg– Stras comes into tonight 13-0 with a 2.51 ERA along with 114 IP, allowing 80 hits, 33 walks, 138 Ks and a terrific matchup against the Dodgers. Lifetime against them he’s held them to a .193 BA (11 for 57) with a 23.3% K rate, 3.3% W Rate with 14 Ks and no home runs. He comes in at a hefty price but there’s a reason, he’s been dominating.
MID RANGE
Adam Wainwright– There’s not a ton of things to like about this slate but hopefully Waino is one of them. He’s facing a Padres’ team that struggles more against right handed pitchers and Wainwright has held them to a .226 BA (21 for 93) with a 16.8% K Rate. He’s struck out 17 and given up only 2 HRs.
VALUE
Julio Urias– He’s getting called up tonight and hasn’t faced the Nats much but he has faced them to a .188 BA (3 for 16). He’s a cheap option and has struck out 6 of the 16 batters he’s faced.
Jerad Eickhoff– GPP only. He’s held the Marlins to a .194 BA (7 for 36) with a 17.9% K rate and a 5.1% W Rate. He’s struck out 7 batters and given up only 1 HR. He’s again, only a tournament option.

TRADE RUMORS: Cleveland Indians Looking To Acquire Jonathan Lucroy
It is no secret the Cleveland Indians are looking to acquire an elite bat near the trade deadline. There were rumors the Tribe were going after Cincinnati Reds’ outfielder, Jay Bruce, but it looks like their attention is focused elsewhere at the moment. The latest rumor is the Indians are making a strong push to trade for Milwaukee Brewers’ catcher, Jonathan Lucroy.

These 4 Offseason MLB Trades Look Awfully Lopsided Now
There are less than two weeks before MLB’s non-waiver trade deadline passes in 2016, but we can’t help looking back at some of last winter’s most notable deals as we wait for more to happen.
It’s common for fans and analysts to crown a “winner” and “loser” for any kind of swap between two or more teams. However, those conversations happen right when a deal takes place more often than down the road when it’s easier justify either side of the argument with a player’s performance.
As usual, last winter contained a ton of player movement, both on the free agent market and through trades. The initial perspectives on the following four swaps are no longer relevant because there’s no question each of them now look incredibly lopsided.
Let’s revisit these trades for a stroll down memory lane as the current trade market continues heating up:

Daily Matchups for 7/20/2016
Pitcher
STUDS
Carlos Carrasco – Normally it’s hard for us here at dailyrotohelp.com to suggest pitchers against the Kansas City Royals but they are banged up and aren’t playing well this year. Carrasco has been able to hold the Royals to a .245 BA (38 for 155) with 44 strikeouts, 37 groundouts, a 25.7% K Rate to go along with a miniscule 7% Walk Rate. He’s only allowed 6 HRs in the 155 ABs and comes in with a great opportunity to go 6+ innings, 6+ Ks and the potential for the W which is an extra bonus on FD.
Kyle Hendricks – When you think stud pitching you don’t think Hendricks but he has been pitching well as of late and could get the run support needed to take down the Mets. Lifetime against them, he’s held them to a .195 BA (8 hits in 41 ABs) with a 17.8% K-rate, 2.2% Walk rate and 8 Ks with no HRs given up. It’s not a great pitching slate to look for the Studs we had on Monday night so be prepared.
MID RANGE
Marcus Stroman – Stroman gets to to face a terrible D-backs team. He’s only faced 4 batters and hasn’t given up a hit. There’s not much else to go on here so use him with caution if needed.
Michael Pineda– Which Pineda shows up to this game? The one who struck out 16 of these Orioles’ bats last season, or the one who can give up 16 hits in 1 game? Lifetime against Baltimore Pineda has given up a .281 BA (36 for 128) with 41 Ks (30.1% K-Rate) with a 3.7% Walk Rate while giving up 7 HRs. He gets to face Chris Davis so that could be 1 HR to go along with 3-4 Ks just from him. He’s more of a fringe cash play and more heavily used for GPPs tonight.
VALUE
Jeremy Hellickson – It almost pains me to put his name as he’s not been great in the past, but it seems like he turned things around this season. He’s facing a Marlins’ team that is very up and down this season. Hellickson has held the Marlins to a .213 BA (26 for 122) with a 14.1% K-rate and a 3.9% Walk Rate. Hellickson has induced 31 groundouts, 20 flyouts, 18 strikeouts and 14 lineouts to go along with only 2 HRs.
Felix Hernandez – The real question will be “Which King Felix do we get tonight?” He’s fresh off the DL and gets a nice matchup against the sliding White Sox. When Felix was good he has held them to a .241 BA (26 for 108) with an 18.6% K-Rate, 5.1% Walk Rate with 22 strikeouts, 27 groundouts, 19 singles, and only 2 HRs.

The Home Run Derby is made for the fans, specifically it’s ideal for kids. As we become a jaded society drowning in overexposure to soundbites and headlines, the home run derby still provides a respite to dream on what is possible. We get to watch a collection of the best home run hitters in the world strut their stuff, flex their muscles, and display the skill of their perfectly honed swings. This year, Giancarlo Stanton reminded us all that he’s the modern home run king. He’s not the first home run king; though and Off the Bench just ran a great infographic recapping some of the awesome performances of the past.
