Earning Full WOBs:
Brandon Belt homered to get the Giants on the board and then hit a 2 run double to put them ahead for good as the beat the Dodgers, 4-2.
David Hess took a no hitter into the 7th and finished with 6 1/3 hitless shutout innings, walking 1 and striking out 8 Blue Jays. The Orioles bullpen would blow the no hitter and the shutout but not the game, which was a 6-5 final.
Kevin Kiermaier hit an RBI double and a 3 run homer as the surging Rays crushed the Rockies, 7-1.
Merrill Kelly threw 6 strong innings, allowing 3 runs while striking out 3 Padres to earn the 10-3 decision for the Diamondbacks.
Earning 1/2 WOBs:
Chris Archer struck out 8 Cardinals over 5 shutout innings. The Pirates bullpen would ultimately lose the 6-5 game in 11.
Randal Grichuk broke up a no hitter with his 7th inning homer and later hit a double in the Blue Jays 6-5 loss to Baltimore.
Colin Moran reached base 4 times, doubled and homered, driving in 3, but it was not enough as the Pirates dropped their home opener to the Cardinals, 6-5.
Ivan Nova held the Indians to 1 run over 7 strong innings, allowing 6 hits and 1 walk. He did not factor into the decision as the White Sox came up short, 5-3.
