Let’s see owned baseball on April 5, 2019
Earning Full WOBs:
Shane Bieber struck out 9 Blue Jays over 6 innings, allowing 2 hits. He would not get the decision but he helped set up Cleveland’s 3-2 walk off win.
Max Muncy walked, singled, tripled and homered, driving in 3, in the Dodgers 10-6 slugfest with Colorado.
Joe Musgrove threw 7 innings of 3 hit shutout ball, striking out 8 Reds and walking just 1 as the Pirates blanked Cincinnati, 2-0.
Mike Trout hit a go ahead homer and added another solo shot to give the Angels a 3-1 victory.
Earning 1/2 WOBs:
Sonny Gray took a shutout into the 7th and finished with 3 hits and 1 run with 7 strikeouts while walking no Pirate batters. That run was 1 too many as the Reds were shutout 2-0.
Lance Lynn threw 7 strong innings, striking out 5 Angels and giving up just 5 hits. Unfortunately for Lynn, one of those hits was a Trout homer, giving him the hard luck 3-1 decision for the Rangers.
Jorge Polanco hit for the cycle and finished the game with 5 hits. The Twins could not stop Philadelphia in the 10-4 final.
Trevor Story homered twice, driving in 3 runs, in Colorado’s 10-6 loss to the Dodgers.
