Let’s see owned baseball on April 30, 2019

Earning Full WOBs:

Gerrit Cole held a red hot Twins team to 1 hit and no runs over 7, striking out 11 along the way as the Astros won an 11-0 laugher.

Zack Greinke pitched into the 8th, striking out 7 Yankees in 7 2/3 innings, allowing 1 run to earn the 3-1 decision for Arizona.

Franmil Reyes homered twice and doubled, driving in 3, to lead the Padres past Atlanta, 4-3.

Carlos Santana collected 3 hits, including a homer, driving in 2 to help the Indians win in Miami, 7-4.

Earning 1/2 WOBs:

Luis Castillo struck out 7 Mets in 6 2/3 innings, giving up 2 runs. He did not factor into the decision as the Reds dropped the 4-3 game in extra innings.

Adam Eaton went 2 for 5 with a homer but the Nationals came up short against St. Louis, 3-2.

CC Sabathia recorded career strikeout number 3,000 in a game where he pitched into the 6th, giving up only 2 runs. He would be charged with the loss as Arizona topped the Yankees, 3-1.

Gleyber Torres singled, doubled and drove in the Yankees only run in their 3-1 loss in Arizona.

As CC Sabathia approaches 3,000 strikeouts, his Cooperstown case becomes a little clearer. Meanwhile Vlad Guerrero Jr. is going to play in the stadium where his dad won the MVP and the best player in the game is wearing Vlad Sr.’s number.

Let’s see owned baseball on April 29, 2019

Earning Full WOBs:

Jesus Aguilar went 3 for 4 with a pair of homers, driving in 4, to power the Brewers past Colorado, 5-1.

Xander Bogaerts got two hits including an RBI double that helped the Red Sox come from behind and beat Oakland 9-4.

Jake Odorizzi out dueled Verlander with shutout innings, striking out 7 Astros, as the Twins took the 1-0 thriller.

Mike Soroka struck out 8 Padres over 6 innings to earn the 3-1 decision for Atlanta.

Earning 1/2 WOBs:

Cody Bellinger singled twice, walked and drove in a run but the Dodgers fell to San Francisco, 3-2.

Justin Miller stopped the bleeding by throwing 2 shutout innings after the Cardinals 5th inning uprising. It was too late for the Nationals, who were doubled up, 6-3.

Pedro Severino reached base 3 times, including a homer, the the Orioles 5-3 loss to the White Sox.

Justin Verlander allowed just 2 hits and struck out 7 in 6 innings. But the Twins blanked his Astros, 1-0.
