Zack Greinke held the Cardinals to 4 hits, 1 run on a solo homer, and walked none while striking out 10, as the Dodgers cruised to a 9-1 victory.

Anthony Rendon went 3-4, missing the cycle by a homer, and helped the Nationals beat the Cubs 7-2.

Earning 1/2 WOBs in losing efforts.

Masahiro Tanaka pitched brilliantly over 9 innings against the Red Sox. He had one less than brilliant moment throwing Mike Napoli a 2 out, 2 strike 9th inning fastball which he deposited into the right field stands for the eventual game winning homer and the Yankees lost 2-1.

Nick Markakis went 2-4 with an RBI and a run scored. But Baltimore could not complete their comeback against Tampa Bay, 5-4.

Matt Cain pitched 7 outstanding shutout innings, holding Cincinnati to 6 hits. But the Giants bullpen spoiled his lead and would eventually lose 7-3 in 11 innings.

Luis Valbuena went 2-4 with a homer and 2 RBI but his Cubs fell short 7-2 to Washington.
