Let’s see owned baseball on July 21, 2019

Earning Full WOBs:

Charlie Blackmon went 4 for 5 with a homer and 3 runs scored as the Rockies doubled up the Yankees, 8-4.

Walker Buehler struck out 11 Miami batters in 7 shutout innings as the Dodgers finished off a 9-0 laugher.

Trey Mancini homered twice, driving in 3, in the Orioles 5-0 win over Boston.

Asher Wojciechowski took a no hitter into the 7th and finished with 7 1/3 shutout innings, 1 hit and 10 strikeouts as the Orioles blanked the Red Sox, 5-0.

Earning 1/2 WOBs:

Anthony DeSclafani allowed 1 earned run and 1 unearned run in 6 innings, fanning 11 St. Louis batters along the way. The Reds bats were dead and dropped the 3-1 final.

Lourdes Gurriel Jr. homered and doubled, driving in 3, but the Blue Jays came up short against Detroit, 4-3.

Lance Lynn struck out 12 Astros in 7 innings but took the hard luck 5-3 loss for the Rangers.

Ketel Marte reached base 4 times, scored twice and stole a base but the Diamondbacks fell to Milwaukee, 7-4.

Who Owned Baseball September 14, 2018 (Daily #MLB AL/NL Pitcher + Hitter MVPs) + 2018 #WOB

Chris Stratton threw a complete game shutout, allowing only 2 hits and striking out 7 Rockies to end the Giants losing streak with a 2-0 final.

Masahiro Tanaka continued to make a case to start the Wild Card Game by shutting out Toronto over 6 innings, striking out 8 along the way in the 11-0 Yankee laugher.

Aaron Altherr collected 4 hits, including 2 homers, driving in 5, to give the sliding Phillies a much needed 14-2 victory over Miami.

Andrew McCutchen reached base 5 times, homered and scored a pair as the Yankees blanked the Blue Jays, 11-0.

Edwin Jackson threw shutout ball into the 8th, finishing with 7 1/3 innings, no runs and 6 strikeouts as the A’s blanked the Angels, 7-0.

Marcus Semien homered twice, added a third hit and drove in 4 to give the A’s a 7-0 beating of the Angels.

Trevor Williams held the Giants scoreless over 7 strong innings, allowing 5 hits and 1 walk to earn the 4-0 decision for the Pirates.

Ryan Zimmerman homered twice, driving in 6, in the Nationals 9-4 win over the Cubs.

Brandon Crawford singled, hit a pair of doubles and launched a 2 run shot off of Scherzer to give the Giants all the offense they needed to blank the Nationals, 2-0.

Curtis Granderson went 4 for 5 with a homer and 6 RBI to spark the Blue Jays 13-3 thrashing of the Orioles.

Clayton Richard took his bid to be the first Padres pitcher to throw a no hitter into the 7th. He would let up a hit with 2 outs in the 7th and finished with 7 innings, 2 hits, 1 run and 5 strikeouts to defeat the Marlins, 3-1.

Corey Kluber pitched 8 strong innings, allowing 5 hits and 2 runs while striking out 8 Tigers and helped the Indians hold onto first place with a 9-2 win.

Dexter Fowler got on base 3 times and hit a go ahead grand slam, driving in 5 runs altogether to help the Rally Cat inspired Cardinals past the Royals, 8-6.

Trey Mancini homered twice, added a double and kept the Orioles alive in the pennant race with a 7-2 victory in Oakland.

Jacob deGrom struck out 9 Phillies over 6 2/3 shutout innings as the Mets cruised to a 10-0 final.

Wade Miley threw 7 shutout innings allowing 3 hits as the Orioles topped Oakland, 7-2.

Yu Darvish held Houston to 1 hit and 1 run over 7 innings to earn the 6-1 decision for the Rangers.

Matt Adams hit 2 homers, added another hit, driving in 4 as the Braves won a wild 11-10 slugfest with the Nationals.

Mookie Betts reached base 5 times, drove in a run, scored a run, stole a base and helped the Red Sox come from behind to defeat the Phillies 6-5 in extra innings.

Bryce Harper got 3 hits, 2 of them homers, the last one was a 2 out, 3 run, come from behind walk off homer in the 9th that gave Washington a thrilling 6-4 win over the Phillies.

Bartolo Colon let up an early solo homer and nothing else as he threw 7 innings of 1 hit, 1 run ball and earned the 9-2 decision for Atlanta over San Diego.

Trey Mancini homered twice and added another hit, driving in 4 as the Orioles clubbed Toronto, 11-4.

Ian Kennedy pitched 8 shutout innings, allowing 2 hits and striking out 10 Angels. He would not get the decision but set up the 1-0 Kansas City walk off win.

Derek Holland took a no hitter into the 6th and finished with 6 innings of 1 hit shutout ball to win the 2-1 final for the White Sox in Cleveland.

Stephen Piscotty homered and drove in 5 to help the Cardinals top the Nationals, 6-1.

Asdrubal Cabrera got 3 hits, including a 3 run, come from behind, walk off homer in the bottom of the 11th to give the Mets a dramatic 9-8 win over Philadelphia.

Jeff Samardzija dominated the Padres over 7 shutout innings, striking out 9 to get the 2-1 decision for the Giants.

Carlos Santana reached base 3 times including a homer and 4 RBI to help the Indians inch closer to a division title with a 5-2 final over Kansas City.

Ricky Nolasco threw 7 scoreless innings to throw a wrench in Houston’s playoffs chances and the Angels shut them out 2-0.
