Brandon Phillips had a monster night, going 4 for 5, 2 runs scored, 7 RBI, 2 homers and 2 stolen bases to lead the Reds in a 15-5 drubbing of Pittsburgh.

Eddie Rosario missed the cycle by a single, going 3 for 5 with 3 runs scored and 3 RBI as the Twins topped Seattle, 9-5.

Max Scherzer threw 7 shutout innings, allowing 3 hits and 3 walks and striking out 6 to help the Nationals get a 1-0 victory in Miami.

Carlos Carrasco pitched a complete game, allowing 2 hits, 1 walk and 1 run while striking out 7 Oakland batters and earning the 3-1 win for Cleveland.

Earning 1/2 WOBS on losing efforts:

Curtis Granderson reached base 3 times, including a double and a homer, driving in 3 runs and making a diving catch. The Mets imploded in the rain, blowing a 7-1 lead and lost to San Diego, 8-7.

Mark Teixeira reached base 4 times, scoring 3 runs and hitting 2 homers. But the Rangers walked off against the Yankees, 7-6.

Jon Niese pitched 6 strong innings in bad weather, letting up 1 run and 1 walk and 6 hits. He handed a big lead to the Mets bullpen who imploded and collapsed in the 9th to San Diego, 8-7.

Matt Shoemaker threw 7 shutout innings, allowing 3 hits, 1 walk and 7 strikeouts. He would get a no decision as the Angels fell to the Astros 3-0 in the 9th.
