Lance McCullers threw his first career complete game, allowing 4 hits, 1 run, no walks and striking out 11 Orioles to give the surging Astros a 3-1 victory.

Chris Carter homered twice in the Astros 3-1 win over the Orioles.

Francisco Liriano pitched 7 innings allowing 1 run, 4 hits and 1 walk, getting the 5-2 decision and leading the Pirates to a sweep of the World Champion Giants.

Charlie Blackmon went 4 for 5 with a pair of doubles, stole a base and scored 3 times including the tying run in a Rockies wild 3 run come from behind 9th inning rally to beat the Dodgers, 7-6.

Earning 1/2 WOBs in losing

Mike Leake held the Phillies hitless until there were 2 outs in the 7th. He would wind up striking out 9 and walking 2 over 8 innings. But the Reds bullpen blew the lead in the 9th and Philadelphia walked off 5-4 winners in 11.

Rick Porcello had early trouble and then shut the Twins down inning after inning, finishing with 8 frames of 5 hit and no walk ball, allowing just the 2 early runs. Those runs would stick as the Red Sox dropped the nightcap of a double header, 2-0.

Joc Pederson got on base 4 times including hitting a homer in his 5th straight game. The Dodgers bullpen would melt down and the Rockies walked off 7-6 winners.

Michael Bourn went 3 for 3 with a double and a run scored in Cleveland’s 4-2 loss to the Royals.
