Labor Day Thoughts and Proposals: Locked On MLB – September 2, 2019

Let’s see owned baseball on September 1, 2019

Earning Full WOBs:

Zach Eflin allowed 1 run over 7 innings, striking out 3 Mets to earn the 5-2 decision for the Phillies.

Adalberto Mondesi collected 4 hits and stole 3 bases, scoring 2 runs as the Royals topped Baltimore, 6-4.

Juan Soto went 3 for 4 with a homer as the Nationals powered past the Marlins, 9-3.

Justin Verlander threw the third no hitter of his career, striking out 14 and walking just one as the Astros blanked the Blue Jays, 2-0.

Earning 1/2 WOBs:

Mike Freeman reached base 4 times but the Indians fell short to Tampa Bay, 8-2.

Tyler Mahle pitched into the 7th, holding the Cardinals to 2 hits and 1 earned run and 1 unearned run. Cincinnati would let the game get away in the 9th with a 4-3 final.

Sean Manaea allowed 1 hit and no runs over his 5 innings of work. The A’s bullpen collapsed and the Yankees walked off 5-4 winners.

Kevin Pillar singled and homered but the Giants were doubled up by San Diego, 8-4.
