Wild Card Showdowns and Giving the Braves their Due: Locked on MLB – August 27, 2019
The Phillies will be rooting for the Mets who will be taking on the Cubs. It is very confusing following the Wild Card races. Meanwhile, a listener called me out for not giving enough love to the Braves. It is true. They are terrific this year and ignored.

Let’s see owned baseball on August 26, 2019
Earning Full WOBs:
Mike Ford continued to make a case for his inclusion on the playoff roster with a pair of homer, driving in 3, to help the Yankees edge the Mariners, 5-4.
Freddy Galvis singled twice and homered, driving in 4, as the Reds doubled up the Marlins, 6-3.
Sonny Gray allowed 2 hits and 2 runs over 6 strong innings to earn the 6-3 decision for the Reds over the Marlins.
J. A. Happ struck out 7 Mariners in 5 innings, allowing only 2 hits to win the 5-4 game for the Yankees.
Earning 1/2 WOBs:
Wade LeBlanc pitched 2 perfect innings out of the bullpen, striking out 2 Yankees, to give the Mariners a chance to come back. They did not and lost the 4-3 final.
Bubba Starling went 3 for 4, scoring twice, but the Royals were clobbered by Oakland, 19-4.
Julio Teheran threw 6 shutout innings in Coors Field, no east feat. He did not fare in the decision as the Braves dropped the 3-1 game to the Rockies.
Justin Turner got 3 hits, including a homer, in the Dodgers 4-3 loss in San Diego.
