Let’s see owned baseball on August 14, 2019
Earning Full WOBs:
Homer Bailey kept the Giants scoreless over 7 innings and earned the 9-5 decision for Oakland.
Xander Bogaerts collected 3 hits, 2 of them homers, to power Boston past Cleveland, 5-1.
Bryce Harper reached base 4 times, including 2 homers, as the Phillies clobbered the Cubs, 11-1.
Clayton Kershaw struck out 10 over 7 shutout innings as the Dodgers crushed Miami, 9-1.
Earning 1/2 WOBs:
Freddy Galvis went 4 for 5 with a homer in the Reds 17-7 pounding by Washington.
Yuli Gurriel homered twice and added another hit and a walk but the Astros bullpen collapsed late and fell to the White Sox, 13-9.
Brad Keller took a no hitter into the 7th inning. But the Cardinals bats caught up with him as the Royals were blanked, 6-0.
Steven Matz overcame early game jitters to hold the Braves to 1 run, 2 hits and 1 walk over 6 innings. He was inexplicably lifted and the Mets bullpen melted down in the 6-4 loss.
