Texas was the 20th squad to see all of their run totals of a game all see zeroes on Friday night.  The White Sox and Jose Quintana provided the opposition – and knocked out one of the best clubs to be left in this category.

So there are now 10 clubs left in this quest to be last team bageled in 2016.

The 4 American League teams remaining are overall favorite Toronto, and the potent offensive of Baltimore are also alive  Surprisingly,  the A’s have to be blanked, and not surprising, the Astros are still on the board.

I fully expect the O’s, Jays and Astros to lead the league in HRs 1, 2 and 3, so this is about right.  Oakland on the other hand is the odd man still there.  Kudos to them for a great start to the campaign.

In the NL, the Rockies are always hard to keep from scoring – and are blessed with a nice run scoring home stadium.  Pittsburgh, Arizona and Los Angeles are worthy choices of being left in the running.

Washington should be a tough out here as well.

The Phillies have not had a winning season since 2011 after putting forth a decade straight of them. A promising second half to the year - coupled with full seasons by Aaron Nola and Maikel Franco could have them inch closer back to achieving that mark in the next few years.

That leaves the biggest longhot left in this with the Phillies not having been zeroed despite putting out a subpar lineup every night.

For MLB Runs Scoring Survivor, the Giants are the 2nd team that has even reached 10 out of the 11 variations.  The Cubs trucked the field, and now it is just a race for 2nd.

In the AL, bragging rights are up for grabs, and two teams have 9 outcomes taken out thus far – with Seattle and Texas.

The AL East is the only division not to feature anyone with 8/11 so far.

Part of this exercise is also to see trends.  It is no coincidence that Toronto has started 8 – 9 when you see their run totals.  They are yet to plate more than 7 runs into a game this year through 17 contests.

Last season they led the league in runs. and most 10+ runs scored in games.

It is also telling that the LA Angels season high for runs scored is just 6.  That is not going to cut it in a rough AL fight for the postseason fellas!
