Brett Anderson pitched shutout ball into the 8th, finishing with 7 1/3 innings, 2 hits and 2 walks as Oakland blanked the Angels, 4-0.

Nelson Cruz homered twice, added 2 more hits, driving in 5, as the Twins pounded the White Sox, 10-3.

Manny Machado hit a pair of home runs, knocking in 5, as the Padres topped St. Louis 12-2.

Brandon Woodruff threw 7 2/3 innings, allowing 1 run and striking out 6 Pirates to earn the 3-1 decision for Milwaukee.

Earning 1/2 WOBs:

Luis Castillo was solid over 7 innings, allowing 1 run and striking out 6 Cubs. But the Reds bats were dead and were shutout, 6-0.

Michael Chavis made the most of HIS London trip, homering twice, walking and driving in 6 runs. The Red Sox dropped the bizarre 17-13 slug fest to the Yankees.

Anthony Rendon collected 3 hits, including a homer, but the Nationals fell to the Tigers, 7-5.

Adrian Sampson struck out 7 Rays in 6 innings, allowing 3 runs. The Rangers lost the 5-2 final.

Danny Duffy pitched into the 7th, striking out 8 Blue Jays in 6 2/3 innings, but was saddled with the 6-2 Kansas City loss.

Max Muncy homered, singled and walked, driving in 5 runs but the Dodgers dropped the 13-9 slug fest to Colorado.

Miguel Sanó hit a pair of homers and added a walk in the Twins 6-4 loss to the White Sox.

Patrick Corbin struck out 9 Marlins in 7 innings, allowing a single run and the Nationals held on to win, 7-5.

Corey Dickerson reached base 5 times, driving in 3 and scoring 3, as the Pirates thrashed the Astros, 14-2.

Mike Minor threw a complete game, striking out 7 Tigers in 9 innings, allowing 1 run to earn the 4-1 decision for the Rangers.

Earning 1/2 WOBs:

Matthew Boyd went 7 innings, striking out 11 Rangers, but took the 4-1 loss for Detroit.

Lourdes Gurriel Jr. homered twice and added another hit, driving in 4, but the Yankees would ultimately walk off against Toronto, 8-7.

Dominic Smith got on base a total of 4 times, homered and stole a base but the Mets collapsed again and dropped the 5-4 game in Philadelphia.

Jason Vargas struck out 10 Phillies and allowed 3 hits in 6 1/3 innings. The Mets bullpen blew the lead and the game, 5-4.

Rafael Devers doubled 3 times and added a single, scoring twice as the Red Sox came from behind again to beat the White Sox, 6-3.

Manny Machado returned to Baltimore by homering and reaching base 2 other times to lead the Padres to an 8-3 victory.

Max Scherzer struck out 10 Marlins in 8 innings, allowing 1 run to earn the 6-1 decision for Washington.

Earning 1/2 WOBs:

Hanser Alberto got 4 hits including a double but the Orioles fell to San Diego, 8-3.

Jeff McNeil went 4 for 5 with an RBI and a run score in the Met 7-5 loss to Philadelphia.

Robbie Ray struck out 9 Dodgers in 6 1/3 innings, but took the hard luck 3-2 decision for Arizona.

Clayton Richard settled down after a rough start to throw 6 innings, allowing 3 runs on 3 solo homers, walking 1 Yankee batter. But the early homers were enough to sink him and the Blue Jays, 4-3.

Jason Kipnis collected 3 hits including a walk off homer in the 10th to give the Indians a 3-2 final over Kansas City.

CC Sabathia struck out 9 Blue Jays in 6 innings as the Yankees hung on to win 10-8.

Jean Segura went 4 for 6, with a double and a homer, driving in 2 and scoring 2 to give the struggling Phillies a much needed 13-7 victory over the Mets.

Earning 1/2 WOBs:

Michael Conforto reached base 4 times, including a double and a homer. But the reeling Mets lost to Philadelphia, 13-7.

Yoán Moncada homered, singled and walked, scoring 2 and driving in 2, but the Red Sox walked off against the White Sox, 6-5.

Drew Pomeranz struck out an eye popping 11 Rockies in just 5 innings, allowing 5 hits and 2 runs. He would be saddled on the short end of a 2-0 decision for San Francisco.

Sean Reid-Foley slowed down the Yankee bats with 2 scoreless innings out of the bullpen, giving Toronto a chance to comeback. The Blue Jays rally fell short as they fell, 10-8.

Kenta Maeda held the Rockies to 2 runs over 7 innings. He did not get the decision but helped set up the Dodgers third straight walk off win, 6-3.

Zach Plesac gave Cleveland 7 strong innings, allowing 5 hits, 1 walk and 1 run while striking out 2 to beat the Tigers 8-3.

Jacob deGrom struck out 9 Cubs in 6 innings, walking none and keeping them to 2 run. The Mets bullpen blew the lead and the 5-3 game.

D. J. LeMahieu singled, tripled and homered but the Yankees fell to Houston, 9-4.

Joey Votto reached base 4 times, including a homer and 3 RBI but the Reds were stopped by Milwaukee, 7-5.

J. B. Wendelken threw 2 shutout and hitless innings, walking one Tampa Bay batter. It was too little too late as the A’s lost 8-2

Lorenzo Cain got a pair of hits and stole 3 bases in the Brewers 11-7 defeat by the Reds.

Cheslor Cuthbert singled, doubled and homered, driving in 4, but the Royals were edged by the Twins, 8-7.

German Márquez held the Dodgers to 1 earned run and 1 unearned run over 8 innings, striking out 8 while walking none. He did not get the decision as the Rockies bullpen dropped the 4-2 game in the 9th.

Ketel Marte homered, doubled, singled and walked, scoring 3 runs but the Diamondbacks were trashed by the Nationals, 15-5.

Shelby Miller stopped the bleeding with 3 innings of shutout relief, allowing 2 hits and 1 walk. But it was too little and too late as the Rangers were blown out by Cincinnati 11-3.

Max Scherzer struck out 10 Diamondbacks over 7 innings, giving up 3 hits, 2 runs and 1 walk to earn the 7-3 decision.

Earning 1/2 WOBs:

Charlie Blackmon went 4 for 7, including a homer, but the Rockies had an epic collapse in the 16-12 final against San Diego.

Jacob deGrom threw 7 innings, striking out 8 and no walks in the suspended game against the Cardinals. The game resumed and the Mets bullpen dropped the game 5-4.

Brad Keller silenced the mighty Twins bats with 7 scoreless frames, allowing 3 hits and 3 walks. The Kansas City bullpen would allow 2 runs which was enough in the 2-0 loss.

Luke Voit got on base 4 times including a homer that briefly gave the Yankees the lead. The rest of the night was all White Sox, who won 10-2.

Cole Hamels went into Coors Field and threw 7 shutout innings, striking out 9 Rockies as the Cubs rolled, 10-1.

Austin Riley collected 3 hits, including a game tying 9th inning homer, and scored the winning run in the 11th as Atlanta walked off against Pittsburgh, 8-7.

Daniel Vogelbach reached base 5 times, including a homer and 2 runs scored, in the Mariners wild 9-6 extra inning victory in Minnesota.

Earning 1/2 WOBs:

Zach Eflin threw 8 innings, allowing 2 runs while striking out 9. But the Phillies were blanked by Arizona, 2-0.

Trey Mancini homered and reached base 2 more times but the Orioles fell short against Toronto, 8-6.

Kevin Newman went 3 for 5 with 2 RBI and a stolen base in the Pirates extra inning 8-7 loss to Atlanta.

Dakota Hudson threw 7 strong innings, giving up 1 run and striking out 6 as the Cardinals slugged the Marlins, 7-1.

Brian McCann homered twice in the rain shorted 7-5 Atlanta victory over the Pirates.

Gio Urshela singled, doubled and homered, driving in 4 runs in the Yankees 12-5 double header opening win over the Mets. He added an RBI n the 10-4 nightcap loss.

Earning 1/2 WOBs:

Luis Castillo threw 6 innings, striking out 6 Cleveland batters and giving up just 1 run. But Cleveland came back to double up Cincinnati, 2-1.

Edwin Encarnación reached base 3 times, including a homer, driving in 3, but the Twins came back against his Mariners, 6-5.

Mike Leake held Minnesota to 3 runs, 6 hits and no walks over 7 innings. Seattle’s bullpen would collapse and drop the 6-5 final.

Jake Odorizzi struck out 8 Tigers in 6 innings, allowing 1 run as the Twins took the 12-2 blowout.

Noah Syndergaard allowed 1 hit and struck out 7 Rockies over 7 shutout innings to earn the 6-1 decision for the Mets.

Earning 1/2 WOBs:

Madison Bumgarner gave up 1 run over 7 innings, striking out 5 Dodgers. But that one run was too many as the Giants were blanked, 1-0.

Asdrubal Cabrera singled, doubled and homered but the Rangers wild comeback against the A’s fell one run short, 9-8.
