Who Owned Baseball April 24, 2015 (Daily AL/NL Pitcher + Hitter MVP’s) + 2015 #WOB Standings
Mark Teixeira homered twice, driving in 4 runs and helped the Yankees stop the Mets winning streak, 6-1 in the Bronx.
Dallas Keuchel gave the Astros 9 shutout innings, allowing just 2 hits and 2 walks. The Astros bats were silent and the game went into extra innings. The Astros would hold on after a wild 10th and 11th inning game them a 5-4 win in Oakland.
Anthony Rizzo reached base 4 times, doubled, hit a game tying 2 run homer and scored a pair, including the go ahead run in the 11th as the Cubs topped the Reds, 7-3.
Aaron Harang held Atlanta hitless into the 5th and pitched 8 shutout innings, surrendering just 2 hits and 1 walk. He would not get a decision but the Phillies walked off 1-0 winners over the Braves.

Who Owned Baseball April 23, 2015 (Daily AL/NL Pitcher + Hitter MVP’s) + 2015 #WOB Standings
Daniel Murphy got the Mets on the board early with a 3 run double and added an insurance run with an RBI single in the 7th to extend their winning streak to 10 with a 6-3 final over Atlanta.
David Phelps gave the Marlins a much needed with with 7 shutout innings, allowing just 3 hits and 2 walks and got the 9-1 decision in Philadelphia.
Jacoby Ellsbury hustled to force a double, reached base two other times, stole a base and scored both Yankee runs to win a tight 2-1 victory in Detroit.
Masahiro Tanaka gave the Yankees another good outing, pitching into the 7th, keeping the mighty Tiger bats to only 3 hits and 1 run over 6 1/3 innings. He did not get the decision but the Yankees prevailed, 2-1.

Who Owned Baseball April 22, 2015 (Daily AL/NL Pitcher + Hitter MVP’s) + 2015 #WOB Standings
Johnny Cueto threw 8 dominant innings, allowing just 5 hits and 2 walks and 1 run. He got the 2-1 decision for the Reds in Milwaukee.
Sonny Gray stopped an Angels lineup that the night before bombarded Oakland. He went 7 innings, giving up 2 hits while striking out 7 as the A’s rolled 9-2.
Kolten Wong singled, doubled and homered, driving in 3 and provided some highlight reel defense, helping the Cardinals take a wild 7-5 game in Washington.
Devon Travis hit a 2 run homer to give the Blue Jays the lead for good and added a second hit in a 4-2 win over Baltimore.

Who Owned Baseball April 17, 2015 (Daily AL/NL Pitcher + Hitter MVP’s) + 2015 #WOB Standings
Alex Rodriguez homered twice and drove in 4, including the game winning run with an RBI 8th inning single as he led the Yankees to a 5-4 win in Tampa Bay.
Wil Myers stole the spotlight in Chicago with a 3-4 performance including a controversial 3 run shot that ultimately gave the Padres a 5-4 decision against the Cubs,.
David Price pitched 8 strong innings, letting up just 4 hits and 1 walk. He did not get the decision but his great performance set up Detroit’s walk off 9th inning rally to beat the White Sox, 2-1.
Josh Collmenter not only threw a complete game 4 hit 1 walk shut out against the Giants, but he helped lead the Diamondbacks offense with a 3-5 day, complete with a run scored and driven in.

Chris Archer threw 7 shutout innings, allowing 2 hits and 2 walks while striking out 11 as the Rays stopped Toronto, 4-2.
John Lackey kept the Brewers scoreless for 7 innings, striking out 8 and walking just one, earning the 4-0 decision in St. Louis.
Kurt Suzuki went 2-4 with a homer and 2 runs batted in, helping the Twins win the game 8-5 and take the series from Kansas City.
Lucas Duda collected 3 hits, including a pair of doubles, and drove in the eventual winning run in the 7th as the Mets snuck past Miami, 7-5.

Adrian Gonzalez became the first player in Major League history to hit 5 homers in the first 3 games of the season. He clocked 3 solo shots and added an RBI single, leading the Dodgers to a 7-4 win against San Diego.
Jose Iglesias reached base 5 times, scored 3 runs and doubled, helping the Tigers thrash the Twins, 11-0.
Jake Arrieta won a tight pitchers duel against St. Louis, tossing 7 shutout innings, allowing just 3 hits and while striking out 7 as the Cubs got their first victory, 2–0.
Scott Kazmir allowed a hit to the lead off batter and didn’t give up another one. He finished with 7 shutout innings, 1 hit, 2 walks and 10 strikeouts, earning the 10-0 decision against the Rangers in Oakland.

Steve Pearce clocked a 2 run homer, collected another hit and scored a pair, helping the Orioles run up an early lead and survive a Tampa Bay comeback attempt with a 6-5 victory.
Freddie Freeman went 3-5 with a pair of doubles, 2 RBI and 2 runs scored, helping the undefeated Braves clobber the Marlins 12-2.
Tyson Ross pitched 6 solid innings, allowing the Padres to stay in the game before their game winning 9th inning rally at Dodger Stadium for a 7-3 final.

The All Star Starters line up surprisingly well with the leaders of Who Owns Baseball.
While I congratulate All Star and friend of the podcast, Sean Doolittle, I make a few radical suggestions on how to vote for All Stars on today’s episode of The Sully Baseball Daily Podcast.

Who Owned Baseball Yesterday (April.28) – Updated MLB Yearly ‘WOB’ Standings

Tulowitzki nearly has an OPS of 1.200 – and has seen his club go 15 – 12 to start the 2014 season. They along with the Angeles, are the only two teams remaining this year to be blanked. Justin Morneau also clubbed a HR in yesterday’s game – giving him 6 HRs (like Tulo) but the big 1B has a 1 RBI lead (21 – 20). Tulowitzki still had the better night, adding 2 Doubles and 2 Walks to add to his perfect evening Wed,
Troy Tulowitzki got on base 5 times, hit a pair of doubles and a homer and drove in 3 runs as the Rockies topped the spiraling Diamondbacks, 8-5.
Mike Trout went 2-4 with a triple and drove in the go ahead run in the 8th as the Angels came from behind to beat the Indians, 6-3.
Sonny Gray threw a complete game 3 hit shutout of the Rangers in Arlington, putting the A’s back in first place with a 4-0 win.
Yovani Gallardo was not dominant but kept the Cardinals from rallying. His 6 inning, 3 run performance set up the Brewers extra inning 5-3 victory.

Kyle Seager had yet another multi homer game. He drove in 4 runs, including a 3 run, come from behind, 8th inning shot that gave the Mariners a stunning 6-5 win over the Rangers.
Starlin Castro went 3-4 with a pair of homers, leading the Cubs to a 4-0 victory over the high flying Milwaukee Brewers.
Collin McHugh pitched into the 9th, going 8 2/3 innings, letting up just 2 hits and 3 walks, getting the win as the Astros beat Oakland, 5-1.
Dillon Gee pitched 8 three hit innings, getting the 4-0 decision for the Mets over the Marlins.

A.J. Pierzynski clobbered a come from behind grand slam that helped turn around the Red Sox 7-6 win in Toronto.
Tanner Roark threw a complete game 3 hit shutout, striking out 8 and walking one, leading the Nationals to a 4-0 topping of the Padres.
Phil Hughes was terrific over 7 innings, letting up 4 hits, 1 earned run and no walks. He got the decision in the Twins’ 5-3 win over the Tigers.

Roenis Elias dominated the Rangers, pitching into the 7th, letting up just 1 run as the Mariners bats exploded to a 7-1 win..

Scott Kazmir dominated the Mariners with 6 innings of 2 hit shutout ball. He struck out 9 and walked none. While he didn’t get the win, he set up Oakland’s dramatic 3-0 victory.
Adrian Gonzalez homered in his 4th straight game, going 2-5 and drove in 3 as the Dodgers topped the Diamondbacks in Arizona (not Australia), 8-6.

Adam Wainwright pitched 7 strong, striking out 8 and walking none, earning the 10-4 St. Louis win over the Cubs.
