Earning Full WOBs:
Josh Donaldson hit a pair of homers, driving in 4, to slug the Braves past San Diego, 5-3.
Dallas Keuchel struck out 9 over 7 strong innings allowing 1 run and 6 hits as the Braves topped the Padres, 5-3.
Felix Peña threw the final 7 innings of the Angels 13-0 combined no hitter of the Seattle Mariners, striking out 6 during the emotional evening.
Mike Trout paid tribute to his late friend Tyler Skaggs by reaching base 5 times, homering and doubling in the first inning alone, driving in 6 as the Angels pulled off a dramatic 13-0 no hitter against the Mariners.
Earning 1/2 WOBs:
Yordan Álvarez homered twice, singled and walked, scoring 3 times, but the Astros watched the Rangers walk off 9-8 winners.
Gerrit Cole struck out 13 Rangers in 6 innings, but the Astros bullpen imploded in their 9-8 walk off loss.
Sonny Gray held the Rockies to 1 run and 5 hits over 7 Coors Field innings. But the Reds bullpen blew his lead and the game, 3-2.
Keston Hiura wemt 3 for 4 with a homer, a walk and 2 RBI but the Brewers dropped the 10-7 game to San Francisco.

Ronald Acuña Jr. reached base 4 times, including a pair of solo homers, to lead Atlanta past San Francisco, 4-1.
Rafael Devers went 3 for 5 with a homer, 3 RBI and a stolen base to power the Red Sox to a 12-2 laugher in Toronto.
Mike Minor struck out 11 Mariners in 6 innings, allowing 2 runs as the Rangers held on to a 10-9 win.
Mike Soroka threw 8 innings, allowing 2 hits and 1 run, walking none and striking out 7 Giants for the Braves 4-1 victory.
Earning 1/2 WOBs:
Hanser Alberto homered twice, added two more hits, stole a base and scored 3 runs, but the Orioles bullpen collapsed against the Yankees, 10-7.
Felix Peña came into the game in the second and threw 5 frames, allowing 1 run and striking out 3 Twins. The Angels fell, 3-1.
Anthony Rendon got on base 4 times, including a homer, but the Nationals lost again, this time 5-3 to the Mets.
Luke Weaver threw 6 innings, striking out 7 and no walks and 2 runs, but took the hard luck 2-1 Arizona loss in San Diego.

Earning Full WOBs:
Nolan Arenado got on base 5 times, including a homer and 3 RBI as the Rockies held on to win a wild snow covered 12-11 Coors Field slug fest with the Giants.
Patrick Corbin struck out 8 Dodgers in 7 shutout innings as the Nationals won, 6-0.
Jordan Luplow hit a pair of solo homers as the Indians blanked the White Sox in a rain shortened 5-0 game.
Felix Peña pitched 7 innings of shutout relief, allowing 3 hits and striking out 7 Tigers to earn the 13-0 decision for the Angels.
Earning 1/2 WOBs:
Mike Leake held the Yankees to 1 run and 6 hits, walking none over 7 innings. But the Mariners bats were dead and he took the hard luck 3-1 loss.
Hunter Pence homered and walked in the Rangers 4-2 loss in Houston.
Gregory Polanco reached base 4 times, homered and drove in 3 but the Pirates were topped by St. Louis, 17-4.
Mike Soroka threw 6 strong innings, allowing 1 run and 4 hits. He did not factor in the decision as the Diamondbacks walked off in extra innings against St. Louis, 3-2.

Who Owned Baseball September 1, 2018 (Daily #MLB AL/NL Pitcher + Hitter MVP’s) + 2018 #WOB

Luis Castillo struck out 11 Cardinals over 6 2/3 shutout innings, giving up 2 hits as the Reds won, 4-0.
Dansby Swanson doubled and then in the comeback rally hit a key 8th inning homer to propel the Braves past Pittsburgh, 5-3.
Masahiro Tanaka allowed 1 run over 7 innings and worked out of some tight jams to earn the 2-1 decision for the Yankees over Detroit.
Brett Phillips homered, walked, doubled, stole a bag and was on base when the Royals walked off against the Orioles with a homer to a 5-4 final.
They all owned baseball on September 1, 2018

Kyle Hendricks threw 7 innings of 2 hit shutout ball as the Cubs blanked the Reds, 9-0.
Jason Kipnis doubled, homered and collected 2 more singles, driving in 4 runs in the Indians 12-5 laugher over Kansas City.
Blake Snell struck out 8 in 6 innings, allowing 2 hits and 1 run to help the Rays be the first team to sweep Boston this year with a 9-1 thumping.
