Sean Doolittle’s Pursuit of Jack Chesbro – New Episode of @lockedonmlb

431075A9-A30D-4FA0-9694-497955441ADA

A wild, narrative flipping game between the Nationals and Phillies ended with Sean Doolittle getting another relief victory. If he keeps piling those wins up over the course of the year, he can both put his name in the record books AND expose the silliness of the win statistic.

Luis Castillo blanked the Marlins over 7 innings, giving up just 2 hits, as the Reds took the game in a 14-0 laugher.

Victor Robles capped a 3 hit game with a 2 out, 2 strike 9th inning home run to tie the game and propel the Nationals to a 10-6 come from behind victory in Philadelphia.

Recapping the Weekend and Rethinking West Coast Start Times – @lockedonmlb April 8, 2019

Locked-On-MLB-Podcast-BGWhat did we learn this weekend? We learned the Red Sox bad start continued and so did the hot start of the Mariners. Plus the A’s lost in the dumbest way possible.

Meanwhile, fans on the East Coast can barely see the game’s best player play. If it is because of the start time of the games in California, then the solution seems straight forward to give people in New York more exposure to Mike Trout.

Most Recent Cycle Hit For Each MLB Franchise (Updated For Jorge Polanco, April 5, 2019)

Screen shot 2019-04-05 at 8.38.07 PM

Bill Streicher, USA TODAY Sports

A CYCLE IN A LOSING CAUSE!

You can’t blame Jorge Polanco for the Twins loss. He smacked a cycle and collected 5 hits. The fact that his homer was the only run he scored and the only run he knocked in may have explained how he had such a highlight in a 10-4 blowout the other way.

Either way, Minnesota has their first cycle since Michael Cuddyer’s in 2009 and we got the first one of the year.

Locked-On-MLB-Podcast-BG

Has the season started or not? It is very confusing with the soft opening. I think the season should start with the All Star Game anyway.

That is discussed along figuring out which managers will be closer to Cooperstown with a World Series title in 2019.

The LockedOn MLB Podcast is Relaunched… hosted by Paul Francis Sullivan of Sully Baseball @LockedOnMLB

Locked-On-MLB-Podcast-BG

https://player.megaphone.fm/LKN4611938221?

I’ve been away. Now I am back.

Thanks to the Locked On Podcasting Network, your pal Sully is posting all new baseball podcasts for the relaunched show Locked On MLB.

The first episode, I discuss which fan bases have replaced Cubs, White Sox and Red Sox fans as the longest suffering in baseball and who need a World Series title the most in 2019.

Plus, I suggest a few rules that might cut down on the number of pitchers used, reduce length of games and make a little more sense than what MLB is proposing for 2019 and beyond.

Fans of the old podcast will feel right at home.
