Jose Fernandez struck out 14 Mets over 7 innings of 4 hit shutout ball to take the razor thin 1-0 decision for Miami.

Marco Estrada kept the Red Sox hitless into the 8th. He finished with 8 plus inning, 2 hits and 2 runs to earn the 5-4 victory for Toronto.

Nolan Arenado reached base 4 times, including a homer, a double, 4 runs scored, 3 RBI and a stolen base to lead Colorado’s 10-3 thrashing of the Padres.

Evan Longoria got on base 4 times, homering twice and pushed Tampa Bay past Minnesota, 7-5.

Earning 1/2 WOBs in losing efforts.

Matt Harvey continued his recent stretch of solid innings by allowing one run over 7 innings, walking none. That 1 run was enough as the Mets were shutout by Miami, 1-0.

Hisashi Iwakuma gave up 1 earned run and 2 unearned runs over 7 innings. He would be saddled with a hard luck 3-2 Mariners loss in Texas.

Wil Myers homered and doubled in the Padres 10-3 crushing by the Rockies.

Eduardo Nunez went 2 for 4 with a homer and a stolen base but it was not enough as the Rays beat the Twins, 7-5.
