Sully Baseball Daily Podcast – October 31, 2015
Posted by Paul Francis Sullivan
The Mets have turned this into a competitive World Series. Was Curtis Granderson’s homer the turning point?
Meanwhile Juan Uribe is back in the World Series where he belongs. And Raul Mondesi’s son did in zero regular season games what his father couldn’t do in 13 seasons: Play in the World Series.
BOO! It is the Halloween episode of The Sully Baseball Daily Podcast.
David Wright, Noah Syndergaard and Salvador Perez all added to their totals of Who Owned the World Series and Who Owned October (WOWS and WOO).

Who Owns October In MLB Playoffs 2015? (#WOO) Tallies Updated For October 23, 2015
Posted by Paul Francis Sullivan
The World Series match up is set. The Royals and the Mets will face off.
Time to figure out who owns October!
Each winning team for every post season game gets a pitcher and a hitter who earn a full WOO (Who Owns October.)
And at my discretion, I award a 1/2 WOO’S to a worthy player on the losing team.
At the end of the post season, we will see who had the highest WOO total as a pitcher and a hitter.
A complete description of the rules can be found HERE.
From October 23rd, ALCS Game 6:
Receiving 1 WOO’s
Wade Davis threw the final 1 2/3 innings, striking out 3 Blue Jays, earning the decision and closed out the ALCS with a 4-3 Royals clincher.
Mike Moustakas homered and singled, scoring a pair and made some sparkling defensive plays to lead the Royals past the Blue Jays, 4-3.
Receiving 1/2 WOO’s
Jose Bautista homered twice including a dramatic game tying shot in the 8th inning. It would not be enough as the Royals came back to beat Toronto, 4-3 and advance to the World Series.
David Price gave the Blue Jays a quality start, pitching into the 7th, striking out 8 and walking 1. He did not get a decision as Toronto was eliminated by the Royals, 4-3.

Who Owns October In MLB Playoffs 2015? (#WOO) Tallies Updated For October 21, 2015
Posted by Paul Francis Sullivan
One LCS is done and the other will see another day.
From October 21st.
ALCS Game 5 and NLCS Game 4:
Receiving 1 WOO’s
Lucas Duda homered and doubled twice, driving in 5 and putting the Cubs on their heels from the start and set up the Mets 8-3 pennant clincher against the Cubs.
Marco Estrada kept the Royals off the board until the 8th, finishing with 7 2/3 innings, 3 hits, 1 run and 1 walk and kept the Blue Jays alive with a 7-1 victory over Kansas City.
Steven Matz kept the Cubs off the board early while the Mets put together a big lead. He did not get the decision but he set up the Mets 8-3 win.
Troy Tulowitzki went 2 for 4 with a bases clearing double that propelled the Blue Jays past the Royals, 7-1.
Receiving 1/2 WOO’s
Salvador Perez homered to provide one of the few Royals highlights in their 7-1 loss to Toronto.
Jorge Soler singled and doubled twice, scoring 2 runs. But it was not enough as the Cubs lost 8-3 to the Mets.

The Blue Jays were not pretty but they may have saved the LCS from a disaster. The Cubs have a tough hill to climb.
Plus I can’t resist giving some thoughts to the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer.

Matt Harvey came through big time for the Mets, erasing a lot of ill will.
David Price LOOKED like an ace until the Royals chip chip chipped away.
And all the while I bet Joe Buck wishes he was in New York and not Chicago.
It is almost late October on The Sully Baseball Daily Podcast!
Matt Harvey, Mike Moustakas, Kelvin Herrera, Daniel Murphy, Troy Tulowitzki, Starlin Castro and Jon Lester all added to their totals of Who Owned October.

Who Owns October In MLB Playoffs 2015? (#WOO) Tallies Updated For October 17, 2015
Posted by Paul Francis Sullivan
The ALCS and NLCS are both on their way!
From October 17th. ALCS Game 2 and NLCS Game 1:
Receiving 1 WOO’s
Matt Harvey pitched into the 8th, finishing with 7 2/3 innings, 2 runs, 4 hits and 9 strikeouts to beat the Cubs 4-2 and give the Mets a 1-0 lead in the NLCS.
Kelvin Herrera gave the Royals the shut down inning they needed by striking out a pair in the 8th and setting up the 6-3 win against the Blue Jays.
Mike Moustakas tied the game with an RBI single and opened it up with another run scoring hit in the 8th to help the Royals come from behind against Toronto, 6-3.
Daniel Murphy homered to give the Mets an early 1-0 lead and made a diving play to end the 4-2 victory over the Cubs.
Receiving 1/2 WOO’s
Starlin Castro hit a game tying double in the 5th but it would be as close as the Cubs would get as they fell to the Mets, 4-2.
Jon Lester pitched into the 7th and kept the Cubs in the game. But the Mets would get to him and Lester would be saddled with the 4-2 loss.
Troy Tulowitzki went 2 for 4 including an RBI double in the Blue Jays 6-3 loss to the Royals.

KC Up 1 – 0 In ALCS, But Jays At +115 Still?! Plus Mets/Cubs Preview + NLCS Prediction
Posted by Jonathan Hacohen

Royals blank the Jays, take a 1 – 0 lead, and are set to face David Price, who doesn’t have an all – time best playoff record, and are just slight favorites currently. I think this is a wrong odd. I would have at -160 or higher. Thanks also to a preseason bet I had with Toronto, I am throwing down $150 on the Royals to win the series – for $111 profit right now. I also had the KC squad at the onset of the series for a nice +135 odd.

Seriously, I have picked on bet365.com for a couple of years now. I am happy the Jays made it to the final four – as I had a preseason bet on them to win the World Series for $30 – At 20/1 Odds…However they just made it so easy to hedge bet this again.
I already had $50 plunked down on the series with a lofty +135 clip for the Royals to start this best of 7. Again, I harken back to KC hosting 4 of the potential 7 games, and also yielding no Lefties out of their Starters.

Sully Baseball Daily Podcast – October 17, 2015
Posted by Paul Francis Sullivan
Driving past the old Johnny Carson studios, I started thinking about how the consumption of baseball has changed since 1985, 1986 and 1993, the last times the Royals, Mets and Blue Jays won the World Series.
Also I talked about the not exactly eventful Game 1 of the ALCS.
Heeeeeere’s Sully on The Sully Baseball Daily Podcast!
Alcides Escobar, Edinson Volquez and Josh Donaldson all added to their totals of Who Owned October.

Zack Greinke Should Re-Sign With The Dodgers If Deal Is In The Neighborhood

With the Dodgers losing yet another Series in the playoffs they have some big questions about their offseason forthcoming. Don Mattingly will likely be fired. Then there is the Zack Greinke situation.
The 31 Year old RHP has a legitimate shot to be the NL Cy Young Winner this year (if it is not Jake Arrieta) – and he couldn’t have picked a better campaign to do this with an opt out clause in his contract. He will command a hefty sum in the winter.
Here is the problem….The Dodgers new brass doesn’t like to spend the kind of money like the old Ned Colletti days, and this may pose a problem to sign one of the best four pitchers in the game the last few years. Read the rest of this entry →

Doc Adams on Pre-Integration Era Hall of Fame Ballot
One of the early pioneers of the game of baseball is one step closer to enshrinement at the Baseball Hall of Fame as the Pre-Integration Era Committee has selected Daniel Lucius “Doc”Adams as one of its 10 finalists.
This important step in the process has been championed by Adams’ great-granddaughters Marjorie Adams of Connecticut and Nancy Adams Downey of New York City. For the past several years they have embarked on a passionate journey to have Doc Adams recognized for his contributions to and achievements in the game of baseball.
It is easy to see why an unassuming doctor who referred to his marriage as his “crowning achievement” may have been overlooked for so long as a founding father of baseball.
Yet on October 5th, the Hall of Fame recognized the numerous contributions made by Adams both on and off the field. Read the rest of this entry →

Who Owns October In MLB Playoffs 2015? (#WOO) Tallies Updated For October 15, 2015
Posted by Paul Francis Sullivan
That is your Division Series round. Not a bad opening act!
From October 15th. NL Division Series, Game 5:
Receiving 1 WOO’s
Jacob deGrom did not have his best stuff but he gutted his way through 6 innings, striking out 7 and allowing only 2 runs to earn the Mets series clinching 3-2 win over the Dodgers.
Daniel Murphy pulled off the gutsy steal of third that set up the tying run and then homered off of Greinke for the go ahead run as the Mets stunned Los Angeles 3-2 and won the Division Series.
Receiving 1/2 WOO’s
Zack Greinke pitched into the 7th and finished with 9 strikeouts and 1 walk over 6 2/3 innings, allowing just 3 runs to score. He would be saddled with a tough luck 3-2 loss as the Mets eliminated the Dodgers.
Justin Turner capped a brilliant Division Series with 3 more hits, including 2 doubles, and a stolen base to finish with a .526 average. He would be stranded each time he reached base and the Dodgers lost 3-2 to the Mets.
Current ‘WOO’ Totals MLB 2015:

Justin Turner – Dodgers 2 1/2, Delino DeShields – Rangers 2, Jorge Soler – Cubs 2, Daniel Murphy – Mets 1/2, Stephen Piscotty – Cardinals 1 1/2, Colby Rasmus – Astros 1 1/2, Kyle Schwarber – Cubs 1 1/2, Jose Altuve – Astros 1, Jose Bautista – Blue Jays 1, Chris Carter – Astros 1, Johnny Cueto – Royals 1, Travis d’Arnaud – Mets 1, Dexter Fowler – Cubs 1, Eric Hosmer – Royals 1, Rougned Odor – Rangers 1, Salvador Perez – Royals 1, Kevin Pillar – Blue Jays 1, Alex Rios – Royals 1, Troy Tulowitzki – Blue Jays 1, David Wright – Mets 1, Lorenzo Cain – Royals 1/2, Francisco Cervelli – Pirates 1/2, Yoenis Cespedes – Mets 1/2, Carlos Correa – Astros 1/2, Edwin Encarnacion – Blue Jays 1/2, Adrian Gonzalez – Dodgers 1/2, Didi Gregorius – Yankees 1/2, Jason Heyward – Cardinals 1/2, Howie Kendrick – Dodgers 1/2, Kendrys Morales – Royals 1/2, Ben Revere – Blue Jays 1/2, Luis Valbuena – Astros 1/2, Kolten Wong – Cardinals 1/2,
