Sully Baseball Daily Podcast – October 18, 2015

NY POST

NY POST

Matt Harvey came through big time for the Mets, erasing a lot of ill will.

David Price LOOKED like an ace until the Royals chip chip chipped away.

And all the while I bet Joe Buck wishes he was in New York and not Chicago.

It is almost late October on The Sully Baseball Daily Podcast!

Matt Harvey, Mike Moustakas, Kelvin Herrera, Daniel Murphy, Troy Tulowitzki, Starlin Castro and Jon Lester all added to their totals of Who Owned October.

The ALCS and NLCS are both on their way!

Time to figure out who owns October!

Each winning team for every post season game gets a pitcher and a hitter who earn a full WOO (Who Owns October.)

And at my discretion, I award a 1/2 WOO’S to a worthy player on the losing team.

At the end of the post season, we will see who had the highest WOO total as a pitcher and a hitter.

A complete description of the rules can be found HERE.

From October 17th. ALCS Game 2 and NLCS Game 1:

Receiving 1 WOO’s

Matt Harvey pitched into the 8th, finishing with 7 2/3 innings, 2 runs, 4 hits and 9 strikeouts to beat the Cubs 4-2 and give the Mets a 1-0 lead in the NLCS.

Kelvin Herrera gave the Royals the shut down inning they needed by striking out a pair in the 8th and setting up the 6-3 win against the Blue Jays.

Mike Moustakas tied the game with an RBI single and opened it up with another run scoring hit in the 8th to help the Royals come from behind against Toronto, 6-3.

Daniel Murphy homered to give the Mets an early 1-0 lead and made a diving play to end the 4-2 victory over the Cubs.

Receiving 1/2 WOO’s

Starlin Castro hit a game tying double in the 5th but it would be as close as the Cubs would get as they fell to the Mets, 4-2.

Jon Lester pitched into the 7th and kept the Cubs in the game. But the Mets would get to him and Lester would be saddled with the 4-2 loss.

Troy Tulowitzki went 2 for 4 including an RBI double in the Blue Jays 6-3 loss to the Royals.
