Just to reset this, we will be bringing you this column once a week during the regular season.

This is worth paying attention to.  Think of them as power rankings as put forth by the website.

For the love me, I can’t understand how the Red Sox have climbed to +850, while the Rays are sitting at +1800 for the WS.  It also boggles my mind why bettors don’t take stock in Strength of Schedule.

The AL East will beat each other up so badly only the division winner may make the playoffs, yet all 5 teams are in the top 13 for odds.

Only the Rays are paying what they should.

Keep in mind the  #1 asset is value here.  I may pick a team because of value as oppose to whether I think they are worthy of the Fall Classic Title or not.

Remember I have also said, with the bigger odds, you can always use hedging if your longshot club can even make the Wild Card game

Odds To Win The 2014 World Series

1.  LA Dodgers +700

2.  Washington Nationals +800

3. Boston Red Sox +850 ( Up from +1000)

Don’t get me wrong, I like Boston to have about 90 wins and contend, but handing them the #1 seed in the AL, and not factoring in their tough AL East schedule is bad.  This is a poor odd.  Det should be here not Boston.

T4. St. Louis Cardinals +1000

T4.  Detroit Tigers +1000 (Up  from +1100)

Did anybody else heed my best bet wager a few weeks back (i smacked down some coin before it went back to (+1000).  For the Record I now have the Rays. (got em at +2000), Rangers (+1100), and the Giants (+2500).  All because of the best value.  My top 2 picks for the World Series are still the Dodgers or Tigers.

6.  Texas Rangers +1200

7. New York Yankees +1300 (Down from +1200)

The Bronx Bombers are right about where they should be.  Still should not be favored higher than Tampa.

8. Atlanta Braves +1400 (Up from +1600)

Let me get this right, Beachy, Medlen and Minor are all hurt, and yes you signed Santana, but how can you go up as a favorite in the last few weeks considering what has happened!  Then again, they are playing in the NL East with cupcake teams to get fat on.

9. Oakland A’s +1500

T10. Cincinnati Reds +1800 (down from +1500)

Where is the love for the Reds?  Are people down because they are 4 – 15 in Spring Training.  This is a top heavy club for pitching and offense.  This is now one of the better odds on the board.

T10. Los Angeles Angels +1800 (down from (+1700)

Still don’t like the odd.  The Angels should be ranked about 14th.  Having said this, they have dipped 2 odds weeks in a row.  If they fashion a slow start, you will be able to receive a better odd.  Stick away from this one.

T10 . Tampa Bay Rays +1800

T 13. Toronto Blue Jays +2200

T 13. Baltimore Orioles +2200

T15. San Francisco Giants +2500

T15. Pittsburgh Pirates +2500

T17. Cleveland Indians +2800

T17. Kansas City Royals +2800

T17.  Seattle Mariners +2800

20.  Arizona Diamondbacks +3300

21.   Philadelphia Phillies +3500 (Down from +3300)

Maybe dissention in the ranks with Sandberg and Rollins left a bad taste with bettors?

22. Milwaukee Brewers +4000

T23.   Chicago White Sox +5500 (Down from +5000)

What if Sale wins the AL Cy Young, Dunn can club 40+ HRs and Konerko has one good season left?  Not a favorite in any way here, but they almost won the AL Central in 2012.  Good value.

T23. Colorado Rockies +5500

T25.   San Diego Padres +6600

T25.  Chicago Cubs +6600

27. Minnesota Twins +8000

28   New York Mets +9000

29.   Miami Marlins +10000

30.   Houston Astros +35000 (Down From +25000)

Wow… staggering odd.  A $3 bet will win you a profit of $1050.  The value is there even if the horses are not.  Even the bet365.com mim wager of .20 cents nets you  $70 PROFIT.

My Top 5 bets this week.

1.  TB +1800

2.  DET +1000

3.  CIN +1800

4. KC +2800

5. ARI +3300

About chuckbooth3023

I played competitive baseball until 18 years old and had offers to play NCAA Division 1 University Baseball at Liberty University. Post-concussion symptoms from previous football and baseball head injuries forced me to retire by age 19. After two nearly made World Record Attempts in 2008, I set a New World Record by visiting all 30 MLB Parks (from 1st to last pitch) in only 24 Calendar Days in the summer 0f 2009. In April of 2012, I established yet another new GWR by visiting all 30 Parks in only 23 Calendar Days! You can see the full schedule at the page of the www.mlbreports.com/gwr-tracker . In 2015, I watched 224 MLB Games, spanning all 30 MLB Parks in 183 Days. Read about that World Record Journey at https://mlbreports.com/183in2015/229sked2015/
