Anyone who is even somewhat familiar with the Atlanta Braves farm system has heard the name Julio Teheran. He is one of baseballs top prospects – and has been the pride of the Braves farm system for the last couple of seasons.

And while I believe Teheran is a very talented kid with a lot of up side, there has also been another name emerging in Braves camp this spring that could make for an interesting potential battle for the 5th spot in their Starting Rotation.

That young pitcher would be a guy by the name of J.R. Graham. A 6’0 tall, 185 LB – hard throwing Right Handed Pitcher. Graham may be a little less recognizable than Teheran but he has the ability to light up the radar gun – having been clocked at over 100 MPH on several occasions.

Across Youtube in the past month, the song “Harlem Shake” by Baauer has been the topic that SO many videos are all about. It all started when some dudes danced to the song on Youtube. It got LOTS of views, and so hundreds of versions have come out using Harlem Shake but with different people and things and in different places.

The idea is one per son comes out in some sort of mask and shakes their head, in a random place while everything behind him is normal and is in a regular mood, but when the song says “Do the Harlem Shake!” the whole scene changes and becomes crazy and it gets a little strange. This itself has NOTHING to do with baseball, except for one thing.

A few weeks ago, the Arizona Diamondbacks in Spring Training decided to do a publicity stunt, and post it on Youtube. If you haven’t already guessed, they did the Harlem Shake.

The video was posted by the official MLB Youtube account and at the time I’m writing, the video had about 177,000 views at the time, which is not too bad for views.

Minute Maid Park is jacking prices for Opening Day

Minute Maid Park is jacking up ticket prices for Opening Day.

By Richard Perez (Astros Correspondent):

A recent flame war has started on the web recently, Twitter to be specific, and people are upset about the Astros Opening Day ticket prices have been doubled. Why would they do that, you ask? Because this night is going to be the biggest night for the Houston Astros baseball club as far as marketing goes.

This, quite honestly, is much more than just another Opening Day baseball game. ESPN is going to broadcast it on national television; furthermore, if you asked yourself “why in the world would ESPN want to air an Astros game on national TV” when it first was announced, I’ll explain why.

As I just stated, this is MORE than just a baseball game, this is the very first game of the Astros’ inaugural season in the American League. A historic event for the franchise regardless of the product out on the field. This is about the franchise as a whole, not just what the analysts deem a team destined for a third straight one hundred loss season.

For those casual fans who want to just see a cheap baseball game, there will be 80 more games played this year in Minute Maid Park, go see one of those games.
