Let’s see owned baseball on July 15, 2019

Earning Full WOBs:

Brandon Crawford collected 5 hits, 2 of them homers, and drove in 8 by himself in the double header opener which the Giants cruised to a 19-2 beating of the Rockies. He added another home run in the 2-1 nightcap.

Travis d’Arnaud homered to lead off the game, homered again later in the game and then completed the home run trio with a dramatic 3 run shot come from behind show with 2 outs in the 9th inning, driving in all of Tampa Bay’s runs in their shocking win over the Yankees.

Jakob Junis struck out 10 White Sox over 7 innings, allowing 1 run in the Royals 5-2 victory.

Miles Mikolas threw a complete game 8 hit shutout, striking out 3 Pirates and walking none to earn the 7-0 decision for St. Louis.

Earning 1/2 WOBs:

Kyle Hendricks pitched 5 innings, allowing 4 hits and 2 runs but did not fare in the decision as the Cubs fell to the Reds, 6-3.

Keston Hiura singled, doubled and tripled, driving in a run and stole a base for good measure but the Brewers were doubled up by the Braves, 4-2.

James Paxton allowed 2 runs over 6 innings, striking out 7 Tampa Bay batters. The Yankee bullpen would blow his lead and the 5-4 game.

George Springer went 3 for 5 with 2 homers but the Astros came up short against the Angels, 9-6.
