Let’s see owned baseball on May 8, 2019
Earning Full WOBs:
Jared Eickhoff held the Cardinals scoreless over 8 innings as the Phillies took the 5-0 final.
Jorge Polanco had his second 5 hit game of the season, homering and driving in 2 to lead the red hot Twins to a 9-1 blow out of Toronto.
Chris Sale struck out 14 Orioles in 8 innings, allowing 3 hits and 1 run. He did not get the decision but set up the Red Sox 2-1 win in 12 innings.
Christian Yelich reached base 4 times, homered and stole a base to power Milwaukee past Washington, 7-3.
Earning 1/2 WOBs:
Josh Bell went 2 for 4 with a homer but the Rangers came back to stun the Pirates, 9-6.
Andrew Cashner held the Red Sox offense to a solo homer, scattered 3 other hits and a walk over 6 innings, helping send the game to extra innings. The Orioles would eventually drop the 2-1 game.
Jonathan Lucroy got 2 hits, including a homer, but the Angels fell to Detroit, 10-3.
José Ureña allowed 1 earned run and 1 unearned run in a strong 7 inning performance. But the Marlins let the Cubs walk off again, this time to a 3-2 score.
