Earning 1/2 WOBs:
Rhys Hoskins doubled twice and singled, driving in a run, in the Phillies 7-6 collapse against the Nationals in the second game of a double header. He also reached base safely twice in the 3-1 opening game loss.
Jacob deGrom once again pitched brilliantly, striking out 9 Marlins in 7 innings, allowing 3 hits and 2 runs. And once again it was not enough as he took the 5-3 loss for the Mets.
Didi Gregorius reached base 3 times, including a homer, driving in 4 runs, but his Yankees were doubled up by the Twins, 10-5.
Ryan Borucki pitched into the 7th and held the Red Sox to 3 hits and 2 runs. But Toronto’s bullpen could not stop Boston’s bats from slugging themselves into a postseason berth with a 7-2 come from behind win.
