Earning 1/2 WOBs:
Andrew McCutchen reached base 4 times, including a homer, in the Giants 7-6 extra innings loss to Texas.
Yonder Alonso homered twice, driving in 3. But Cleveland’s bullpen melted down and Kansas City walked off for the 5-4 final.
Steven Brault gave the Pirates brilliant relief in extra innings. With the game on the line every time he pitched, he threw 4 innings and allowed no hits, no runs and 2 walks, striking out 3. Another reliever blew the lead in the 15th inning as Milwaukee won the 7-6 heart breaker.
Jake Odorizzi allowed 1 earned run and 1 unearned run over 7 strong innings, striking out 4 Oakland batters. He would take the hard luck 7-1 defeat in Minnesota.
