Hanley Ramirez hit a game changing 3 run homer and then provided the go ahead blast as he was a one man wrecking crew of the Yankees to complete the Red Sox four game sweep, 5-4.

Joey Votto reached base 5 times, including a homer, to help the Reds top Pittsburgh, 7-4.

Ariel Miranda got 8 strikeouts over 7 innings and allowed only 3 Astros hits, earning the 7-3 Mariners decision.

Alex Reyes threw 7 shutout innings as the Cardinals stopped the floundering Giants, 3-0.

They all owned baseball on September 18, 2016.

Boston Red Sox Ending 2016 Regular Season on Many High Notes

The Boston Red Sox have put their fans in a glass case of emotions this year. The time is quickly counting down on the illustrious career of beloved slugger David Ortiz. Additionally, even though they are currently in first place in the American League East, the team is still fighting for their playoff spot with their finger nails, as a veritable pack of hopefuls nip at their heels. That being said, no matter what happens the rest of the way there are a number of positives that will come out of the 2016 campaign and can be applied to the future.

Who Owned Baseball September 17, 2016 (Daily #MLB AL/NL Pitcher + Hitter MVP’s) + 2016 #WOB Standings

Bartolo Colon threw 7 shutout innings, striking out 6 Twins and made some interesting but effective defensive plays to nail down the Mets 3-0 victory.

Collin McHugh gave the Astros 7 shutout 2 hit frames to take a 6-0 game from Seattle and keep their thin playoff hopes alive.

Trea Turner got 4 hits, including a homer, drove in 2 and stole 2 bases as the Nationals inched closer to a division title by beating the Braves, 7-2.

Mike Napoli got on base 4 times, homered and drove in 4 as the division leading Indians cruised to an 11-4 win over Detroit.

They all owned baseball on September 16, 2016.
