Spring time is coming fast and frequent and now we are seeing daily odds placed on the League Champions for the 2016 MLB Season. In most cases I hate picking these odds since the World Series odds tend to be more valued for the punters.
But sometimes it is still easier to prognosticate an AL Or NL winner instead of winning the whole thing. 14 clubs in the Junior Circuit are in play in my view, as are 9 potential Senior Circuit squads.
If you are here to wager on the A’s, Reds, Brewers, Braves, Phillies, Padres or Rockies for the upcoming season you are certainly delusional about baseball betting. However if you are only wishing to bet a few dollars, than who really cares.

The American League may feature all teams with 70+ wins in 2016, and as such with parity more rampant, Oakland has the worst odds to win the Junior Circuit Pennant at +4000. I also feel their may only be 1 or 2 teams that top the 90 win barrier in 2016.
Got to say, I still love the KC Royals at +625 for the American League. In some ways this is a fair odd, as they would be slight underdogs against all 6 top odd NL clubs in my view.
The Yankees at +750 is also tantalizing as they could sneak their way through the American League, but should not advanced past all the great pitching staffs in the NL if they made it to the Fall Classic.
With the Jays and Red Sox, if you want to place a bet on these clubs, I suggest you also just pick them to win the AL, as either of them would have a tough time lining up Starting Pitching versus the NL. Still not calling for best bets there though.
Absolutely love the Mets and Dodgers for the two best bets in the National League. Cards at +650 is not half bad of a wager either.
The Cubs at +350 is not worth any cash – as you would be better off plunking down some dough on them for the World Series at a current odd of +700.
San Francisco, Pirates and Diamondbacks have the worst odds value on the board in the Senior Circuit.
I am not in favor of throwing down money on the Rangers at +750, and also the Cleveland Indians at +1300 either.
For the record, SF is a nice bet to win the National League over the Dodgers and D’backs, I just hate putting them ahead of the Mets at all.
I may be tempted to also wait a few weeks into the season to place some money down on one of the American League. With parity being at an all time high, the fluctuation of the odds may tip to value for a club that is slow out of the gate. Think of Toronto or Boston for this move.
The Royals are another candidate for a maneuver like waiting. If April is slow for them I would not panic. They are a a team of professionals who will not be worried about any deficits.
I would not wait for the Yankees to bet. It is paramount they get off to a fast start. (Aroldis Chapman could see the club have a slow start with his forthcoming suspension). Anything below .500 for April would kill their chances for the year.
The Bronx Bombers were able to fend off other clubs for a WildCard spot because of a fast start in April and May. If this team of veterans is out of the starting blocks slow, I am not sure they can resurrect their season after that based on their age.
Toronto has a club full of streaky hitters. If they maintain to begin the campaign, I would not be startled.
Los Angeles is also a bad bet here with Albert Pujols being questionable to start the year with his injury. In fact, I predict a bad beginning to the year for the Halo’s. I think the 2nd half will be much kinder. Wait till July to bet on them.

There is only three National League teams (Mets, Dodgers and Cards) that represents a better odd to bet on the League Championship Series as opposed to a club winning the World Series. You can always hedge bet for the Fall Classic once your team wins the LCS. It is effectively betting your team to in League Pennant, but at a higher odd than what is presented in this article.
