Chuck Booth’s 2015 MLB Park Historical Road Trip

The GOAL: 183 Straight Days (every single day at least 1 gm) Of ALL 30 MLB Parks Trip In 2015 (216 Games) view full year schedule.

The CAUSE:  To Raise Money for Concussion Awareness (via Sports Legacy Institute. donate money here) Through Inspiring Others.

They call them the dog days of summer, and they are right to an extent.

As I sit here outside Yankee Stadium – waiting for a 130 am bus back to Philly, I am reminded how long this season has been

Tonight’s win for New York  marked the 146th game I have seen this year in 124 Days.  There is 71 games left in 59 days left.

I am going to Washington for the next three days, but also have a game in the Bronx on Saturday afternoon, before catching am Amtrak train to the District.

After that game, a 130 AM bus ride back to Philly, followed by a 4 mile walk back to home base in the wee AM hours will take its toll.  There are no public busses that run at that time of day to make it back to home base.

The whole week I have been piling up the road miles by bus.  It is wearing me down a lot.

It is also got everywhere I go, and the crowds and noise never seem to end anywhere.

Earlier this week, I tried to use ear plugs to fade out the sounds, and they gave earaches and headaches since.  Probably not good to put extra pressure on any part of my head.

The weather has been hot and humid.  This has made the situation a little tough too.

Not all of it is bad though.  A nice mild night in New York feels good right now.  I definitely fare better in colder temperatures.

Don’t get me wrong when I say this.  I am still enjoying the games.  Overall it has just been tougher with all factors combined.

I will keep plugging away at it.  The ears aren’t as sore today as they were yesterday.  Hopefully tomorrow brings on more relief.

Early next week I am in Chicago for 3 days – and should be able to rest for both nights I am lodging there.

A rampant trip of driving ensues after that (Chicago to Toronto, to Baltimore by way of Sicklerville, NJ, but I also have four days in a row at Baltimore from Aug.15 – Aug.18, for more rest.

The crowds have also been higher in attendance of late.

Once I make it to August.19, the schedule is a little easier.  But not only that..I have people to see games with the remainder of August..

In fact, I will only need my long-term rental car for five of the last forty five days of the regular season..

So it just the rigors of a long MLB year.

About chuckbooth3023

I played competitive baseball until 18 years old and had offers to play NCAA Division 1 University Baseball at Liberty University. Post-concussion symptoms from previous football and baseball head injuries forced me to retire by age 19. After two nearly made World Record Attempts in 2008, I set a New World Record by visiting all 30 MLB Parks (from 1st to last pitch) in only 24 Calendar Days in the summer 0f 2009. In April of 2012, I established yet another new GWR by visiting all 30 Parks in only 23 Calendar Days! You can see the full schedule at the page of the www.mlbreports.com/gwr-tracker . In 2015, I watched 224 MLB Games, spanning all 30 MLB Parks in 183 Days. Read about that World Record Journey at https://mlbreports.com/183in2015/229sked2015/
