Matt Harvey pitched brilliantly giving the Mets 8 shutout innings, allowing 6 hits, 1 walk and striking out 9 St. Louis batters. The bullpen would blow his lead but the Mets walked off 2-1 winners in 14 innings.

Chris Sale locked up in a tense pitchers duel, going 8 innings, allowing 1 run and 4 hits while striking out 7. He did not get a decision but the White Sox topped Cleveland 2-1 in 10 innings.

Jose Bautista reached base 4 times including a single and double and a homer, scoring 3 and driving in 3 in Toronto’s back and forth 10-6 win over the Angels.

Carlos Gomez homered and then hit a tie breaking RBI single in the 7th to give Milwaukee a 3-2 victory over Detroit.

Dan Haren went 8 innings, walking none and allowing just 2 earned runs. He would not get a decision as Miami lost 3-2 in 13 innings.

DJ LeMahieu went 2-4 with a triple, an RBI, a stolen base and a run scored in Colorado’s 4-3 loss to the Phillies.
