Today’s episode of The Sully Baseball Daily Podcast was recorded at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.
I examine baseball team names and wonder why there is not a team called the cheetahs.
I also try to figure out who will be the first native of Africa to play in the majors.
And part of the podcast was recorded on a hot air balloon.

I jump right into the polarizing topics today on The Sully Baseball Daily Podcast.
The startling walk off inside the park homer by Angel Pagan in San Francisco does not makeup the fact that critical calls were blown and can be easily fixed.
Plus I talk Dusty Baker. Even the mentioning his name brings about extreme points of view. I defend and then trash him.
And I even make a Cyrano de Bergerac reference. It makes sense.
Angel Pagan, Josh Donaldson, Jake Peavy and Mike Minor all owned baseball on May 26, 2013.

The Giants remind me of the Yankees.
Specifically the current San Francisco Giants remind me of the Joe Torre Yankees of the 1990’s and early 2000’s.
I make the comparison today on The Sully Baseball Daily Podcast, Remove all the negative associations with the Yankees and bear with me. The analogy makes sense.

Who Owned Baseball – Yesterday (May 10th) + Updated Yearly ‘WOB’ Standings

St. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Shelby Miller basically said “Anything Jon Lester can do, I can do better!” (AP Photo/St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Chris Lee)
Jon Lester threw a brilliant 1 hit shutout against the Blue Jays as Boston won 5-0.
Not to be outdone by Lester, Shelby Miller also spun a one hit shutout as the Cardinals beat the Colorado Rockies.
Lyle Overbay went 4-5 with a home run, driving in 5, as the Yankees beat Kansas City in an 11-6 slugfest.
Brandon Phillips got on base three times with a walk and two hits including a homer and an RBI single as the Reds held on to a 4-3 win over the Brewers.
