Okay, the MLB has has had their fair share of characters and memories that illustrate how funny some things are.  We all like to blow these up on social media circles.

In this article, I just wanted to share some of these occurrences I have found amusing – also some of things that have cracked up some of our writers at this website.

Of course, we also have Paul Sullivan (AKA Sully) who usually makes people laugh once a podcast because he is a former comedian.

Some of his things that make us laugh are:  “Did you know that Mariano Rivera is retiring?” diatribes and explaining WAR to novice baseball people is also classic.

Sully likes to emphasize that he understands sabermetrics, but several other of our listeners have cracked up at his pronunciation of BABIP. Read the rest of this entry

Odds To Win The 2013 MLB World Series, Plus Odds To Win Game #6

David Ortiz is having himself a field day in the 2013 World Series. He is 11 - 15 (.733/.750/2.017) with 2 HRs and 6 RBI. Can you imagine his numbers if Beltran didn't rob him of the Grandslam in Game #1? Try .800/.813/2.346 with 3 HRs and 10 RBI. He has been epic! ----- L.G. Patterson/MLB.COM

So here it is again in the Playoffs with St. Louis facing elimination.  The club is 8 – 1 in their last 9 elimination games (Game 7 of the 2012 NLCS is the only defeat (SF Giants – suffered in that realm since 2011.)

I think they can stave off being sent home on Wednesday as well.  It would be really good for the game of Major League Baseball if we could have another Game #7.

While I don’t like the Red Sox (as a NYY fan) – I respect them, and David Ortiz is one of my favorite players in the game today.  What he is doing is incredible.

Odds To Win the World Series Today:

Boston Red Sox -400

St. Louis Cardinals +325

In one of the better moves done recently by Rockies management, this former Indian was picked up by the team in 2009, for a player that has never made the Major Leagues. Betancourt has a 0.994 WHIP in his Colorado Career - spanning 244 IP. Impressive considering some of the Innings lugged are in the thin air of Coors Field

Betancourt has a 0.994 WHIP and a 2.97 ERA in his Colorado Career – spanning 233.1 IP. Impressive considering some of the Innings lugged are in the thin air of Coors Field.  At age 39 next season, the club has a Team Option for $4.25 MIL.  They should do it.  Their Bullpen has been better than expected.

How All Of The Rockies Pitchers Were Acquired:

At the MLB Reports, we intend to show you the Roster Tree for the Colorado Rockies – and how they assembled their current roster for hitting and Pitching.  It will work in a six degrees of separation like format.

Once we figure out the origin of how many trades going back in time it takes to see where the tree started, it will be time to dissect how the team fared on the deals.

If a player has never left the organization at all, the tree will be easy – as it will just be the year they were drafted or signed.  Today, we will cover the Pitchers.
