Bartolo Colon took a perfect game into the 8th inning and finished with 7 2/3 innings, giving up 1 hit, 1 walk and 1 run while striking out 7 Astros. He would not get the decision but the Rangers prevailed in 10 innings, 3-1.

Clayton Kershaw gave the Dodgers a much needed head to head win over Arizona with 7 innings of 2 hit ball, allowing 1 run and striking out 12 in the 7-2 final.

Starling Marte went 5 for 5 with a homer and 4 runs scored as the red hot Pirates won again, 7-3 in Miami.

Andrew Benintendi singled, doubled and tripled, driving in the tying run as Boston came from behind to beat Baltimore, 3-1.

Earning 1/2 WOBs:

Justin Verlander was as impressive as Colon on Sunday night. He allowed one hit, a solo homer, and 1 walk over 8 innings, striking out 11 Rangers. Houston would drop the game in 10 innings, 3-1.

Homer Bailey threw 7 strong innings, allowing 4 hits and 3 runs, striking out 4 Cardinals, but he was saddled with the tough luck 3-2 loss.

Adam Duvall got a pair of hits, including a homer, but the Reds fell again, 3-2 to St. Louis.

Dernard Span singled, walked and homered, knocking in 2, but the Rays were thumped by Philadelphia, 10-4.
