Brandon Guyer hit 2 homers and drove in 5 but Tampa Bay’s bullpen melted down and Oakland took the game, 7-6.

Felix Hernandez struck out 9 in 7 1/3 innings but allowed 3 runs which were the difference in the Mariners 3-0 loss to the Angels.

Maikel Franco went 3 for 5 with 3 RBI in the Phillies 9-4 defeat by the Reds.

Jon Lester recorded 9 strikeouts in 6 2/3 innings, giving up just 2 hits. But he would be the tough luck 2-1 loser as the Cubs fell to Pittsburgh.
